HRRAT meets every last Friday of each month at a local venue near Hastings Town Centre and welcomes all members of the local (and beyond) Trans community to a friendly get-together from 7pm.
Hastings and Rother Rainbow Alliance Trans is a fully supported part of HRRA and was started to support the 'T' within LGBT.
Hastings and Rother Rainbow Alliance is an organisation that is working to support the Lesbian, gay, Bisexual and Trans (LGBT) local communities.
Trans is used as an umbrella term and includes (alphabetically and not exclusively): Androgyne, Bigender, Cross-dresser (CD), Drag King, Drag Queen, Female to Male (FTM), Genderqueer, Intersex, Male to Female (MTF), Trans Men, Trans Women, Transgender (TG), Transsexual (TS), Transvestite (TV).
All are equal and the aim of the group is to be inclusive.
Based in Hastings, East Sussex, HRRAT aims to be a friendly place where privacy and identity is respected and people can socialise, share experiences, and provide each other support.
This is NOT a play party / event and is purely for the purpose of providing support for Trans people. Its purposes are very similar (if not identical) to the excellent TG peer support/social group based in Kent that is widely publicised elsewhere on this site.
In addition to the monthly meeting, the group takes part in other events that may be happening locally and often meets informally and socially in between meetings
There is strictly no alcohol permitted at the meetings although there is a cup of tea or coffee on hand accompanied by a biscuit or two. For the more adventurous and experienced members of the Trans community, meetings often conclude in a nearby pub afterwards where alcohol is of course available.
There is no charge for the meeting and you can turn up in whichever mode you feel comfortable.
