Hi folks

2nd February 2020.

Good grief - has it really been more than 5 years since I last updated my profile on here. I guess it must be. So much has happened since then and pretty much all of it has been wonderful! After getting married in June 2014 (see below) we had a little boy in 2016. Wonderful though that is, with my wife having stoped work, it does curtail somewhat my regular dressing so I am pretty much restricted to fortnightly shopping trips, the odd day here and there and, of course, my subscription to the classical music concerts at the Sage, Gateshead. I go to about a dozen each year and almost exclusively as Sue. Indeed my portrait photo (A1 size) was hanging on an internal wall of the main hall for the whole of last season!

I have a big weekend coming up soon - 5 concerts (3 on Saturday and 2 on the Sunday) so I have booked myself into a local hotel at my wife's suggestion as it's quite a trek back to get home at 23:30 and then set off again after breakfast. So, that's 5 different outfits (I had though of going to 4 of them and then getting changed into male mode for the last one which would really freak out those sitting next to me but I have a brand new silver sequined gown that really needs to be shown off at that final concert!

As I have managed to lose almost a stone (and didn't put anything on over Christmas) I should be pretty trim in time for that weekend and will be hammering the exercise bike over the coming days.

I have had so many people come up to me at those concerts telling me how "fabulous" I look and never cease to be amazed just how kind some people can be. Sitting there in the interval one evening an elderly lady came over and asked if I minded if she sat at my table. Of course I said that I didn't. She sat down, looked at me and said: " I have seen you at many of these concerts and always remarked to myself how amazing you look. I had to come across and say this to you because I am old now and could die at any time and I would hate to do that without having told you this". Then she simply got up and walked off. There wasn't really anything to say and anyway, I almost dissolved into tears. I don't believe that anyone has ever said a nicer thing to me in my life in such a totally unsolicited manner.

9th July 2014

It's been a busy few weeks here. I got married: in a barn at a brewery! Then off down to Yorkshire for "Le Tour de France" and what a weekend that was! Unfortunately, a full month of over-indulging has left me looking a bit like a pregnant hippo! I would have been perfectly suited to going to "Ladies' Day" at our local racecourse other than the fact that my skin is not orange enough, I don't own a white PVC mini-dress and I AM able to walk in 6" platforms!

I'm not going to bother with Sparkle this year. Too much going on just now plus; although I find the days great fun; I tend to get very bored in the evening. I really loathe the bars along Canal Street and as two of my favourite things in life are good beer and rock music I am pretty well stuffed as there are few places in the world where I can find less of those. I think last year I gravitated back to the bar of the Hilton where I drank cocktails and ranted over the state of the world to anyone drunk enough to listen to me! And anyway, following the "pregnant hippo" remark above; I can hardly fit into any of my clothes at the moment so I shall probably spend the weekend riding miles on my bike in a vain attempt to eliminate a few tons of blubber! Perhaps next year.......?

1st April 2014

Well, it's April Fools' Day and nothing has happened yet! I keep trying to push what I do and where I go so a couple of weeks ago i went to a classical music concert at The Sage, Gateshead as Sue and no-one batted an eyelid. The old biddies next to me were chattering away merrily to me although they were probably too blind and deaf to notice anything.

I must have made a good job of it though because I went to the bar in the interval and when I saw my reflection in the big mirror behind the bar I could hardly recognise myself!

I have another one to go to later in the month so am looking forward to that.

17th February 2014

Good grief, how time flies past. I have been given a couple of nudges by friends who have told me how long it is since I updated my profile, so here goes.

Life's been pretty good over the last year or so. Sue has been out and about a lot with shopping trips to the Metro Centre, Newcastle and Carlisle. I got glammed up for "Priscilla Queen of the Desert" at Sunderland Empire and was most miffed that I wasn't chosen to go up on stage after the interval!

Although I don't flaunt myself in the village in which I live it seems pretty clear that just about everyone knows about me and no-one seems to give a sh*t. I've walked the mile or so down to the station a few times (in 5" heels, quite an achievement in itself!) and that's not been an ordeal.

The problem is that it's all becoming a bit too tame. Now that the staff in the local supermarkets and department stores all know me and just want to have a chat the novelty is wearing off rapidly.

I have to say that the run-in to Christmas was wonderful. I had one day out when I thought that the whole world must have been on happy pills". I went into Hexham to do the final bits of pre-Christmas shopping. I'd made a fair effort, wearing one of my blue Phase Eight dresses, red suede Nine West heels and matching suede bag. I was walking up a hill and an elderly gentleman walked past me from behind and, as he drew level with me, he said: "It is so nice to see a lady looking like a lady these days". I thanked him and carried on into the department store and while I was browsing an elderly lady came up to me and said: "you look absolutely lovely in that dress, dear".

15 minutes later I was in Waitrose and I heard: "I just love those Phase Eight dresses". I turned to see a shop assistant standing nearby and replied: "I love them - they just seem to work on me" and she replied: "Well dear, that one certainly does".

Finally, in Tesco, I heard: "I hate you for those shoes!" Another shop assistant, with a big smile on her face, carried on: "I would kill to be able to walk in those, I don't know how you do it. They are fabulous!"

Four genuine compliments from complete strangers in the space of a couple of hours! Was it just the time of year or what? Doesn't half make you feel good though!

So what does the year ahead hold for me? Most importantly I am getting married in June to my most wonderful fiancée who puts up with all my little foibles. Sparkle may well get missed: I tend to go down and spend the weekend on my own as, as I now feel quite comfortable wandering everywhere dressed, there's nothing I need to go down for that I can't do up here.

I entered Miss Trans Cumbria last weekend at a great little club in Carlisle and was a joint winner. One of the prizes is to be the "Trans Face of Cumbria Pride" but unfortunately that happens on the same weekend as my wedding so I won't be able to attend.

I'm going to a Dusty Springfield tribute concert as part of Newcastle Pride this coming weekend although my Dusty Springfield look has me looking more like Diana Dors in Adam Ant's "Prince Charming" video!

After that there's a Schubert symphony and a piano recital, both at the Sage, Gateshead that seem like good events to try dressing up for.

Other than that, little has changed. I'm still the same as ever, no desire to transition or go full time and loving my life exactly as it is.

30th July 2012

Well, Sparkle came and went and, yes, i did go. It was a a good weekend. Again i travelled down on the train "en femme" and hardly raised an eyebrow along the way. Saturday was interesting - I went to the style & fashion workshops, which were being videoed. Half way through I was asked if i would agree to be filmed having a personal consultation with Wenda, the style "guru", which i did. In fact, it was more of a chat about being a tranny and the various factors that made clothing and make-up difficult. At the end the two from the film production company looked at each other, nodded and then asked if i would be interested in featuring in a documentary they were planning!! That's a scary thought - no chance of keeping in the closet if I go out on prime time TV!

Came back and the next weekend went (in drab) with Ang into the little department store in Hexham to get some make up. The girl in there was really helpful and tried a few shades and densities out on me before making her recommendation. To say "thank you" I went back the following Monday as Sue to show her the results. She was thrilled to see me and very complimentary, which really makes a girl feel good.

Then I discovered "Phase Eight" clothes! That was an expensive moment. I now have three dresses, two tops and a jump-suit! I even got a dress for my birthday (as well as a new cordless power drill!). So now, most of my shopping, even in a small town like Hexham, is done en femme.
Life's pretty good at the moment.

26th April 2012

It's been a long time since I last updated but that's just because life has been going along swimmingly. Sue gets pretty much all the time she needs and plenty of shopping trips as and when. Still keeping things very low key in the village itself as rural communities can be a bit "close-knit" but I can't imagine that I have managed to keep Sue a secret what with the postman, meter reader, coal man, window cleaner and BT engineer all having called while Sue has been the one answering the door.

So, 3 months to Sparkle and I can't make up my mind whether to go or not. I've booked my train tickets (on the first day they became available so they were cheap) but it's a bit lonely when you're on your own. Previously I have gone with a friend but she has now transitioned and is settling into her own role in society. So the thought of 48 unbroken hours en femme is appealing but not knowing anyone else is not.

I guess I'll probably go and make the most of it.

12th August 2011

Well, I finally got round to updating this. The main reason I suppose was that I couldn't stand the dreaded "C-------s" word appearing on my profile in August!

So, what's new in the Tyne Valley? Well, to be honest, not a great deal! Sparkle came and went: I travelled to Manchester and back as Sue and frankly, no-one gave a damn! The only interest I noticed was from some orange faced girl with pale eye shadow, liquid black eye-liner and that permanently quizzical expression that came from having her hair pulled back so tightly that her lips were almost on a level with her ears! She sat opposite me on the train on the way back and seemed unable to take her eyes off me - probably looking for some make-up ideas so that she didn't look quite so false in future!

Sparkle was great - Sue was let loose for almost 3 days and not a pair of y-fronts in sight. I went with a friend and sat on the train next to another "girl" on her way there. I never clocked her but she said that the suede mini skirt and 5" heels I was wearing were a bit of a give-away. It wasn't so much the heels themselves but the fact that I was able to walk in them so well that made it obvious.

Walking round a city, going into restaurants and the hotel and even the Museum of Science and Technology without feeling in any way self-conscious was great. It was a bit of a come-down to have to change back into the tracksuit and trainers when i got home and then go and mow the lawn.

Since then I've been doing the usual shopping in Tesco where they all seem to recognise me now. I've been out into the middle of Hexham to go to the Post Office and no-one noticed. For those of you who are worried about the reaction you might get if you go out, let me tell you that, in general, the rest of the population is NOT specifically "tranny spotting" every time they leave the house. They generally have no concept of the phenomenon and will never notice you. People hardly notice what's going on immediately around them so as long as you dress appropriately (and that doesn't mean a floral Laura Ashley tent) you simply won't attract attention. My usual walking out attire involves a long jumper, short skirt and either tights & shoes/boots or leggings & sandals depending on the weather.

Off out into Newcastle for one of the "girls'" "hen night" on Saturday (and, yes, that is a single apostrophe followed by inverted commas after "girls" and is grammatically correct). A Burlesque theme will mean corset and heels and the hope is that we can get away from the Pink Triangle and go somewhere where they actually serve beer instead of some mass produced brown chemical cocktail or even worse; that super cooled, super fizzed, tasteless, yellow piss-water continually mis-spelled as "Larger"! Having said that, bearing in mind what I saw out in Newcastle a couple of Saturdays ago, the competition from all the fat chavs desperate to attract attention to themselves will mean that we should pass by almost un-noticed.

23rd December 2010

Firstly - Merry Christmas to everyone! Today was an interesting day. Ang had her office party and I went into Newcastle to meet her prior to going to a great cabaret show at the new "Boulevard" in town. On the way I decided to call in at a Christmas drinks party being given by one of the life assurance companies to thank the local advisers for their custom throughout the year. It was a bit of a shock for most of the profession that know me to see "Sue" although I did explain it away as going in "fancy dress" to the Boulevard to get 2tickets for the price of 1. I actually felt pretty comfortable throughout it and, after the initial shock, most of people I was talking too got quite used to it. Then Ang and all her work colleagues turned up; some of whom have seem Sue before so that kind of put the lie to the fact that this was a one off! Oh, what the hell. What difference does it make who knows? We had a great night there and a better time still at the cabaret. £40 for the taxi home was a bit steep but it was tipping it down with snow and a damn sight less than the fine for drink driving. Question is - what next?

7th December 2010

It's been a while since the last update and things have changed a little since then. We've moved out into the country. Into the wilds of west Northumberland to be more accurate, to a semi-isolated farmhouse about 6 miles west of Hexham. Sue will get all the opportunity to dress that she needs but the little wanders down into Newcastle have gone by the wayside. Country life is a little more close knit and everyone knows everyone else so i doubt that it will be long before the secret is out. Looking to take my first steps out in the daytime to the big Tesco in Hexham to see what sort of reaction I get.

It hasn't all been smooth sailing either! The day we moved in the heating packed in. The main bedroom window had no catch on it and had blown open so violently that the hinge had bent and it wouldn't shut. To add insult to injury, the main fireplace in the sitting room had no grate in it so we couldn't even light a fire. With the doors open all day for the removal men it was bloody freezing and when we went to bed that night the temperature in the house was 8 degrees!! Still, the new bed we had ordered had been delivered OK and it is fab!!

Then the snow came, putting paid to attempts to re-route the oil pipe from the tank to the boiler so we have a rather primitive system of an open 2 gallon bucket next to the boiler, which is the temporary oil tank and i have to go out twice a day to top it up from 5 gallon cans of a mix of kerosene and red diesel (we call it "rocket fuel"!). The first day we used it, the radiators were so hot you could have seared steaks on them (not to mention arms!) but we've calmed it down and it seems to be functioning OK. We still get the odd day when we wake up to icicles in the bedroom but we're getting there. The compensation is the view from my office - rolling hills, covered with snow and a multi fuel stove blazing away in the corner.

Sparkle Update - 12th July 2010

Well, I am back from Sparkle, having had a fabulous time. Was it worth it - well, yes it was. I decided to have a bit of a laugh and enter the Tranny of the Year competition. I knew I wasn't going to win it but i never turn down the chance of strutting my stuff in front of an audience and the thought of a catwalk was just too enticing to turn down.

Friday before going down I booked into the MAC counter at Fenwick's (the department store in Newcastle) and had a full make over. Picked up a few tips to use in future and got the full £25 taken off the make up i bought.

On Saturday morning I wandered down to the Park and then sat for a while on Canal Street, tranny watching. I was due on stage at 6 so I wandered back to the hotel for about 3 and took 2 1/2 hours to get ready! The main reason for that was doing it slowly so I didn't get too hot and melt everything! I got everything I was going to use out and made sure it was all there and laid out on the dressing table and bed. I had decided to make a real statement and go somewhat over the top with a flame red wig and fiery eye make up but didn't want to cross over into drag queen territory.

I knew when I had finished that I had done as good a job as I possibly could. Everything turned out right with the make up. I squeezed into my silver sequined (size 12!) ball gown, slipped on my 5" heeled silver sandals and topped it off with this fabulous wig. I walked down Canal Street, feeling like a million dollars, knowing that every single pair of eyes was on me as I made my way down to the park. I knew I didn't stand a chance when I saw some of the fabulous teenage trannies who had entered but I did my bit and got one of the biggest cheers of the evening.

They announced the winners of of the various categories: "costume", "style & deportment", "convincing transformation" and "nicest person" and then just as I did my "it's got fuck all about taking part and everything about winning; I'm off to get my shotgun" bit, they announced an extra category of "golden tranny" (i.e. old wrinkly one) and bugger me if I didn't win it!!

So I had to get back on stage and get my tiara and do a twirl in front of my adoring new fans.

Anyway, as I walked back along Canal Street that evening I was stopped a dozen times or more by people telling me I should have won and that it had all been a fix because the overall winner was married to the compère. Goodness knows how many people wanted their photos taken with me.

So - what a day that was. What an experience and I doubt that I have ever had more confidence or felt better as Sue than I did then. Thanks to all who shouted and cheered for me! l

Sunday 28th March

Quite a busy week was last week. Thursday night I decided to go and do a bit f late night shopping so as soon as my PA knocked off for the day I got myself ready, jumped on the 7 o'clock bus and rode into town to go shopping. Visited 2 H & M stores, BHS, MAC (again) in the main shopping centre where the staff now recognise me and Superdrug. Then got the bus home again and discovered that I had a blister the size of Alaska on my right foot. That was from my favourite, most comfy boots that I should be able to walk miles in! Friday night Ang and I went out to a pub and met up with Christine, Katrina and Gemma for a few drinks. No bother from the locals whatsoever and we had a really great relaxing evening, even if I had sat on the car for 15 mins beforehand agonising about going in. As it was there was no need at all and it would be really easy to go in there again. Plans for next month include my local here in Jesmond so that might be interesting!

Sunday 7th March 2010

Well, what a week! After getting myself into a real state on friday so that I ended up not going out despite having planned it for two weeks, I decided to have a full day as Sue on Monday. I got myself sorted out and was so pleased with the result that I took myself out, down to the bus stop and got the bus into Newcastle. There I walked down the main shopping street, into the Eldon Square shopping centre and into the main department store to visit the MAC counter. I asked the girls there what I should do to improve my look and both of them said "nothing - you look great. just do more of the same!". So, bolstered by this I went into H & M and bought some tights into HMV to look for a CD and then caught the bus home. That was by far the furthest I have ever got Sue during the day and I really enjoyed it. I honestly don't think anyone realised as I was walking through town so here's to many more shopping trips!

Monday 15th February 2010

Time for another update. Sue has been out with a vengeance this last few days! Wandered down to the usual haunt last Saturday but it was much the same as ever. Nice to see a few of the girls up from other parts of the country but i have got so tired of those venues. Music's too loud so no-one can speak to anyone else. Drinks are rubbish and expensive. So this weekend I grasped the nettle and went to a Burlesque evening at a nearby pub with Ang. OK, so the show was pretty average - but for £6 you can't really expect a full West End cabaret. What was nice however was to be able to wander round a normal pub - even left the function room and went down to the main bar twice and no-one really batted an eyelid. Yes, I did up my corset too tight and wore 5" stiletto heels all night so by the time it came to go home i was in bloody agony but at least I had taken another step along the road. And, this week is half term week so Sue is doing the work for me and has just come back from a trip to Tesco down the road, augmented by a quick stop in the local church hall cafe for a coffee. Life's becoming more interesting by the day!

Monday 18th January 2010

Thought it was time for an update in the New Year. Sue hasn't been out yet - too many of those Christmas pounds are still settled on the tummy and the corset is straining a bit too much. Seriously - I didn't put that much on but I broke a lace on the corset and had to tie a join in it which meant that the knot wouldn't go through the eyelets and therefore I couldn't loosen it very much. It's only just shy of being able to join up and I reckon a few more days of bread and water will see it done. Then, a serious effort to lose 2 stones this year. That should see me down to a size 12 skirt comfortably and maybe a 14 up top. Then I shall be out and about like there's to be no tomorrow.

Been playing with new looks and think I have got it right now and again - hope the new face shots bear this out.

Hope to see some of you this year - got the room booked for Sparkle already.

3rd November 2009

A brief update even though it has only been a week since the last one but it has been some week!! Saturday night, Angie and I went to the "Gorelesque Ball" in Sunderland. This was a Halloween Fancy Dress do combined with a "Burlesque" show so there were some good outfits on show although several tables were full of people normally attired (if there is such a thing!!). Ang was done out in her leather thighboots and other skimpy clothing and I glammed it up in black & purple as a (not very scary) witch! Travelling 40 minutes on the metro each way wasn't nearly as scary as I thought it might be and we had a great night - it was just wonderful to be in a typical town centre function dressed as i was without any nervousness or feeling out of place.

Then, following on from a couple of weeks ago I have been wandering out and about, getting my shopping and just generally acting normal throughout the somewhat up-market (interspersed with student accommodation) are in which i live. They are just going to have to get used to me I guess. God I wish I had done this years ago rather than waiting till i almost hit 50 but, what the hell, I am still in pretty good shape and Blue Circle do a great new line of ready mixed cement to fill in the facial cracks.

I'M LOVING IT!

Off on holiday for 2 weeks so the legs / feet can have a break from heels but will be back with a vengeance at the end of the month!!

28th October 2009

Well, this has been an eventful month!! My PA took a week off so Sue got to do my job for three of the days anyway! Plus I finally plucked up the courage to go all the way down the street to Tesco and buy some groceries. Scary it was but also exhilarating. Plus, I hardly received any incredulous looks, even though it was 11 a.m.! Made it out in the evening once but, to be honest I am getting bored of going out to the same old places and seeing the same old (sorry girls!) faces so looking to broaden my horizons. There's quite a burlesque scene developing here in Newcastle and they seem to be very tolerant of trannies so I am making it out to a Halloween ball this weekend and intend to go along to some of the more mainstream events in the run up to the end of the year (note the avoidance of the dreaded "C-------s" word)

"Onwards and upwards", as they say.

28th September 2009

A couple of months has passed since my last update and I have shed another half stone. It just won't come off as fast as it goes on. Still, my knee is completely healed now and the op has been a complete success. I've just booked my room for Sparkle next year and I SHALL be there this time!! Working from home should be fabulous but I have a PA who works for me and she comes here every day and even though she knows about "Sue" it's a bit much to expect her to put up with me in a frock throughout the day so have been a bit frustrated of late. She's off on holiday soon and I am going to set up a system so that she can do some work from home thus giving me a bit more freedom during the day.

I have at least been able to get the two sides of my corset to join up so there's definitely less of me than there was a little while ago!! Managed a little walk out from home as far as the post box the other afternoon and I hope to be able to get out into town on Saturday night. Finally getting there!!

20th July 2009

Doesn't time fly?? Another six months has rushed by and things have hardly changed. Still feeling like a pregnant hippo although I've lost half a stone. I couldn't make it to Sparkle, A) cos my knee wouldn't have stood up to 2 1/2 days in heels and B) cos I couldn't get into anything!! I managed to dress last week for the first time in almost 6 months. I had a cold and sneezed hard and ruptured my bloody corset - it burst completely. That was a bit of a blow to the old self esteem I can tell you!! Anyway - I am up to about 100 miles a week on the road bike so with a bit of luck and self discipline, I should start to trim down a bit. My PA is off all next week so I will at least get the chance to dress regularly, even if I don't feel good enough to go out.

19th January 2009***

Well, it's the countdown to a period of inactivity for Sue. I go into hospital on Monday 26th for cruciate ligament reconstruction surgery. Although I will be in and out in the same day it will be crutches for a couple of weeks, no driving for a couple more and lots of physiotherapy and that will mean no heels (oh my Gaawwwwwd!) for quite a while. Furthermore, the scar will take a long time to go down and that will rule out the short skirts as well. So - I'm targeting Sparkle for my comeback (As long as I don't put on too much weight while lying around recuperating).

So, I'll be giving Sue as much time as I can this week, hitting the town on Friday night and my lovely fiancee Ange has suggested I have a Sueday rather then a Sunday this weekend. Then I will be closing up the closet, hanging up the heels, mothballing the make up and working hard on my physiotherapy.

19th September 2008

Had fun the other day. New slim(mer) me was dressed and spending the day at home. Then my daughter rang to say she wanted to call round after school and pick up some money before meeting her friends after school. So I decided to go out for a little walk while she was back at the house. Took the car a short way and had a wander round. Then the phone rang: "Hi Dad" she said, "the weather's so bad me and my friends (sic) have decided we're not going to go into town but stay here and chill out for a couple of hours"

"Oh shit!" sprang to mind. "Are your friends there yet?"

"No, they're just getting the Metro, they'll be here in 10 minutes or so"

I figured I would just have time to get in and get upstairs before they came or I would be sitting in the car in the rain in Newcastle for 3 hours!

So, was this the moment - when my 16 year old daughter got to see "Sue" in all her glory. Well, no. I rang just as I got to the door of the house and said I was coming back. She was at the computer so I just sneaked through the door and legged it upstairs shouting "Hi sweetheart, going for a shower" on the way up. She thinks I was out for a ride on my bike!!

I guess she will have to find out soon but it just wasn't right then.

It's the adrenaline that moments like that bring that makes it so much fun!!

SO, back to what hasn't really altered:

Sue is a totally OTT, young 40-ish t-girl from Newcastle. Average height, medium build, naturally blond with green eyes.

Starting to get out and about in the toon on the odd Friday or Saturday night and the local Tesco's is getting very used to me at 2 in the morning!

Into big hair, high heels (of course), long nails and too much make up, I am looking to make friends for chats, conversation and occasional company in the bars on Friday nights.

Not into guys in any way so NO ADMIRERS looking for meets please. Happy to chat to all but no "phone fun" or crap like that and do not ask "are you dressed" or "what are you wearing" cos that just shows you up as having no imagination and no idea of how to carry out a sensible conversation. And, sorry guys, but if you put me on your favourites I will eventually get round to deleting you cos I try to keep the list down to a minimum! And "girls": - I am not into web cams (I don't have one) and I really don't want to see you on one. I don't want to swap pictures - I put the ones I want people to see of me on here. If you add me to your favourites that's fine but if you have a picture of your genitals (or someone else's) on your profile then I will delete you immediately. I know what they look like and I really don't want to be put off my food by seeing someone else's leap off the screen at me.

If you like what you see, and fancy having a chat over a coffee, please feel free to get in touch.
