Hi. My name is Tanya. I am 70 years old, of slim build, 5ft 9ins. I like to wear short style wigs as I feel they flatter me best. My style is everyday wear and smart /stylish plus glamorous. Patent shoes are for me to die for. My eyes are brown and I wear glasses. I try to dress appropriately depending on the situation or time of day. I am not into wearing sequin dresses while shopping in Lidls. (Other supermarkets are available). I shave my body regularly until I take more permanent steps to remove my body hair.
I am single, live and work and play in Tunbridge Wells. I enjoy my life, even more so now that I have come out. I take a great deal of care into how I present my feminine persona. I have lots to learn and I going to have lots fun learning. When I am dressed as female I feel a complete person and totally as ease and comfortable with who I am. I love being who I am and my heart soars when I am presenting as feminine. I am looking to reach out to other T-Girls and associates for social get togethers, fun times and friendship. I know a few people in Brighton but really want to hook up with trans people in the Tunbridge Wells area.
My favourite line from the amazing US drama Transparent........A father of 68 comes out to his family as transgender and his daughter asks.........Does this mean you will now be dressing up permanently as a woman?. To which he replies........Honey, I have been dressing up all my life.......As a man.
There were times in my 70 years of life so far, when I thought I would never be able to use my feminine name in public or in front of family and friends. I have been on TV Chix before but I was hidden from view as far as everyone outside of the TV Chix community were concerned. I never went out dressed and lived my life as best I could hiding my real self behind a mask of masculinity with only occasional fleeting moments when I could be Tanya. Four months ago I came out to my family and friends as transgender. It was like being released from a life sentence for a crime that I did not commit. I have always regarded myself as tolerant, open, non judgemental and empathic with everyone I meet but sadly I did not apply those qualities to myself. In fact I was my own prosecutor, judge, jury and prison warden. To say that I have been blessed with a totally unexpected level of love, support and encouragement is an understatement. My children particularly have been amazing in the way they have embraced my true self and allowed me to present Tanya to them. I realise I am very fortunate to have their love and support and at the same time I realise there are many transgender people who are not so lucky and I would love to help them find their way through to being who they truly feel they are. Attitudes are changing and the future is looking brighter for the next generation of trans people as society understand the complexities of being transgender both for trans women and trans men.
