Description:The first Friday of the month at Abode is their T-Bird night; check the website for details.
The Colonel and Tracy are very welcoming towards us trannies. They give newcomers a tour and a run down of the rules.
Its open Fridays and Saturdays; the crowd is alternative. "pansexual" he calls it. Expect to see some unusual outfits to say the least. Far more extreme than this trashy little transvestitute. But why gas masks??
Anyhow the music is great for dancing. You would describe it as "electro house".
Fridays are upstairs, a more intimate environment; an open fire in winter.
Saturdays are downstairs, its much bigger; the dance floor is bigger not altogether flat; they have different themes as described in their website.
Its next to Beacon lighting in StKilda rd; no signage. The entrance is at the side in Martin St.
Its very safe although on the other side of StKilda Rd. there can be prostitutes and gutter crawlers (if you're lucky you might get an offer); The part of StKilda Rd opposite is that well known beat just over Carlisle St. So you would probably know I mean.
Parking usually no problem in StKilda Rd or the side streets.
If you're looking to pick up, remember that they don't seem to let in single guys. Unless they are members.
But everyone there is very friendly; its a little difficult to meet people inside because of the loud music, but the smoking area outside is like the kitchen at parties. Unfortunately when you go out there you have to leave your drink inside.
