04/11/13 Had a nightmare journey to the GIC at Charring X, normally its a 90 min drive but due to the worst traffic I have seen it was 3 hours there and 3 coming back all for a 10 minute appointment during which I was told I don't need to return as I am sane (took them 5 years to work that out apparently).

Endocrinologist appointment 15/09/11 details below.

Adams Apple reduction this coming Wednesday 20th Oct 2010.

Details how it went below.

13/09/10 On holiday in Cornwall this week, sun may not be shining but at least its not raining

Yay got a date thru for my Thyroid Chondroplasty (Adams Apple reduction)

Some new pix added to my Flickr page 29/04/10

Riddle me this Batfans, What is long and thin, covered in skin, red in parts and goes in tarts?

No stamp collectors please, philately will get you nowhere

There's a terrible disaster at sea, 40 men and 1 woman wash up on a desert island, after a month the woman is so ashamed at what she is doing she kills herself, a month later the men are so ashamed at what they are doing they bury her, a month later they are so ashamed they dig her up.

Bill and Ben are in bed together, Bill says "Flob-a-dob-a-dob" Ben says "If you love me that much you'd swallow!"

Two parrots on a perch and one turns to the other and asks "Can you smell fish?"

Hi I'm a pre-op m2f ts, about 5'11" barefoot, I've got blue eyes and am a redhead (just without fiery personality, promise).First off I'm not looking to meet up with anyone, (this means everyone so please dont ask thinking it does not apply to you) I am quite happy to message, I've been transitioning and on hormones for almost 2 years now, this seems to be going pretty well.
I live alone in a nice quiet street and enjoy doing my garden, just built myself a deck, so enjoy sitting out on there with a nice cup of tea.
I work with computers, which can be as dull as it sounds but I tend to do loads of other stuff where I work so general dogsbody may be more an appropriate job description at times. Used to work as an electrician but had to give it up due to health issues with the dust but sill do the odd bit if people ask. Please have a pic on your profile if you expect me to reply to messages, after all I can be bothered so you should too there is no excuse you know unless you are invisible then fair enough.

Likes:

I love watching films, especially action, sci fi, comedy and horror, and playing computer games particularly rpg's and shoot em ups. I What else well I love nice clothes (duh what girl doesn't!) of which I buy far too much, same goes for shoes (can only wear one pair at once - 2 odd ones does not work!) Animals especially cats, Indian food (love a curry, well who doesn't?)
I love sci fi on tv especially Doctor Who and Blakes 7 so anyone who laughs at that i will not be speaking to.
I love watching Formula 1, Rugby, Snooker, Darts, Tennis on the telly, don't play much sport tho I do play on a pub pool team but we got thrashed big time last year so we clearly need a lot of practice.

Dislikes:

Smoking, ignorance, clueless people, photo less/barren profiles, people who dont read profiles and ask questions where they could save me and themselfs alot of time by just getting this far, people who insist of flashing their various bits, not being able to be me, beetroot (ergh!) mar mite (double ergh!), people who stand in supermarket aisles/doorways/middle of a busy pavement and talk, get out of the bloody way! Anything Simon Cowell is associated with, being called babe or other demeaning names (im not a small sheep herding pig you know!)

Hates: Well loathings really

U2, The Verve, Coldplay The nicest thing I can wish for them is a long, slow and painful death in screaming agony as that's what I wish for whenever I hear anything by them! Truly vile!

19/01/2012

Had my second injection today of my new med, gonna be on this now til surgery, need to have it every 3 months and its pretty expensive, £200 a time thankfully on prescription but my GP almost had a fit when he found out the cost, according to me latest blood tests everything is going fine, hormone levels are right where they should be so all is groovy.

15/09/2011

Ok so today I had an appointment at the charring cross gender clinic to see the endocrinologist (that's someone who deals with hormone treatment basically as that's covered by the endocrine system)

Its been 3 years since i started HRT and he wanted to check what the results have been so far well really there hasn't been much of a change I haven't been blessed with a chest to rival Katie price (thankfully), so after the usual height weight and blood pressure checks and questions i have no idea the answer to (when did you start talking? hey how can i remember it was years ago)
it was time to take my top off and be subjected to much prodding as well as discussing with his colleague "are these breasts a 3 or a 4"? well in fact they were a 5 (that was amount of development not sadly their magnificence) next it was strip and lets examine down below (oh great I've just sat in a hot car in traffic for 2 hours to get here as well, at least his hands were not cold) now having someone squeezing down there and asking "any pain?" seems an odd thing to do but considering he had a load of wooden beads to compare size with in his other hand was even stranger, it was pretty pointless to even make the smallest joke as lets face it there cant have been one he hasn't heard

The upshot of this groping (heck i didn't even get a drink out of it!) was that i am now in line for some injections to eradicate any remaining testosterone which may lead to some increase in breast size but its unlikely as apparently I've hit my limit and its all down to genetics if your mum and/sisters are busty you will follow so girls there's your guide for what you are likely to get

Thyroid Chondroplasty

Ok that's an Adams Apple reduction in layman's terms or a tracheal shave (tho that one sounds horrible!)Had mine done yesterday 20/10/10 at Charring Cross in London, I was told it was a pretty simple procedure in and out but as it was I had to stay overnight due to the risks of bleeding and them hacking away so close to my airway. I was only out for about and hour and a half with the op lasting around 40 mins felt like I had been kicked in the neck by a mule when I woke up and had a raging sore throat so spent the rest of the day drinking iced water (wasn't allowed tea much to my annoyance!) I recover from anaesthetics very quick but still had to lay around wearing the very fetching backless gowns and DVT prevention socks (sure that's an outfits that's gonna wow them at fashion week sometime!) Into the ward and blood pressure taken what seemed to be every hour so not a lot of sleep, also no talking for at least 2 weeks which for someone who is basically a mouth on legs is gonna be a real trial. So got discharged in the morning with a bag of painkillers and told to see GP in a week to get stitches removed, so I cant really tell how well its gone due to the swelling and the plasters covering the site so will have to wait til it comes off to get a good look and see how well it went.

Ok so a week has past, 7 days of not being able to turn my head for fear of it tearing the stitches, and worse not being able to have a natter! Stitches came out this morning well one chain stitch so the nurse just yanked the end and pulled it thru, a very odd feeling that, well my head didn't fall of which is a plus, how does it look? Still kinda early to say as still swollen and red with a lovely yellowing bruise as well but initial reaction is wow that's a lot better. Before lets face it it was a very prominent bit and now a great deal less so, not gonna say I now have a totally flat neck as that was never an option as I'm too slim (yeah that's a pain!) so there is always gonna be something there but at least it doesn't look like I'm trying to swallow a golf ball any more, also people aren't dumb and having a Adam's apple is the last thing that's gonna give me away to people anyway

IPL Hair Removal
Have got fed up waiting for my local health authority to get back to me regarding laser hair removal, they just don't wanna cough up the funds for it, bunch of tight wads, so have bitten the bullet and decided to fork out myself. After having a look locally found a salon in my town according to their brochure I'm looking at about ?350 per session for the out mush to be zapped, ouch! But it's got to be done so I made an appointment for a test to see if it's gonna work. After consultation with a lovely lady who said yep should work well and quoting me ?140 a session, woo hoo result there had small patch test done only an area bout the size of 10p on jaw, omg did it smart, got 3 week wait til first proper session.

3 weeks later and I'm back to have it done 244 zaps, and an hour later I've got my face covered in ice packs. For those of you who have never had this done imagine burning out a 1cm sq patch of hair on you face at the root, sound painful? Well IT IS!! And you get the nice smell of burning hair at times too and when it comes to jaw line and top lip... ARGHHH!!

3 weeks pass and I'm back for round 2, in the intervening time my face has become a lot clearer over 70% of hair has gone some hopefully permanently others stunned for a bit to be got again another time. 258 zaps this time, broken my own record there, pain was less this time as some areas much clearer and she had turned up the power a bit as well, hope to see even more improvement between now and new time.

13/11/09 Another session today, face is looking a lot clearer still some stubborn areas which, of course are the most painful bit to have treated, top lip being one of them, so setting has gone up again, so even tho same areas look clear can still feel the ping of the light 286 blasts this time as she went over some bits twice, sheesh don't half make my eyes water and face is quite warm and sore after so on with the ice packs and 3 1/2 week til next one.

09/12/09 Well its that time again, back for more, have been asked not to shave for a few days so have 4 days worth of growth (not nice ergh! but what can you do) she wanted to see how much is left and also the longer hair will absorb the light more and help target those stubborn area that are lingering. So hopefully this time should get a lot of remaining ones, that's the plus, the downside, more light absorbed also means more heat transferred to root and my god it smarts worse than first time even tho there are less hair being zapped, however an hour later and its over and today's zap count is down for the first time no increase 3 less, yep 3! Big woop there sure didn't feel like 3 less, but with luck I should see the results before my next trip to the torture chamber,(sorry, salon) 4 weeks to go.

06/01/10 New year is here and time for round five, lovely snowy day, get to salon and thankfully its open tho loads of people are cancelling their appointments, lucky I don't live that far so its just a stroll there for me. Machine setting is raised again level 25, 30 is as high as it will be set for my skin/hair type thankfully not yet tho as despite the progress made so far (and it's very good) this is the most painful yet, unless I had forgotten how bad it was before. Again problem areas top lip and chin where the most persistent hairs are gets a double blast and the setting is raised a notch as a test for the next time tho this doesn't register as face is still burning ICE PACKS!!! Tho with all the snow outside may as well stick face in a snow drift, 296 this time, woo hoo beat my previous best, bring it on for next time lets see if I can break the 300 mark!

17/04/10 Past few sessions have been going great I've now had 8 treatments and the change is huge from the pics taken at start, most of the persistent bits have now waved the white flag and lightened if not gone, the small amount of regrowth is soft and downy , the pain of the sessions is still as bad as ever tho but not enough to put me off, will need some electrolysis for the few blond hairs I have, and that's supposed to hurt more, nice cant wait haha

07/09/10 Ok time for an update on this, I've now had 11 sessions and looking back at the photos that were taken at the start the difference is amazing there are just a few hairs left (now so few and few between not even patches!) the condition of my skin has improved much softer tho this may be down to the hormones as much as not having to shave! Started having electrolysis to clear up the blond hairs that the IPL wont target and pain wise its nothing, seriously I almost fell asleep while having it done, and best of all the salon where I go has someone who has just qualified and need a willing victim to work on so I'm getting it for free, woo hoo, so anyone out there thinking of taking the plunge and having it done go for it, sure it's costly but balance that with not having to shave again, if you can afford it go for it as soon as you can it is a long process, been almost a year so far for me but totally worth it

Charring X Gender Clinic

15/04/10
Back up to London for a check up, more of same questions, in there less than 20 mins, a new record, I don't know why they don't just text or email patients to save everyone the hassle its almost a 3 hour drive there and back, went with my neighbour and we hit the shops at the Westfield centre, the place is massive, driven past it every time I go up there and you don't get the scale of the place, we shopped till we dropped, should have taken roller skates to get around, Oxford St beckons for he next time I have to go in July, see if I can get time spent in clinic down to 15 mins haha

12/11/09
Off to gender clinic today for routine appointment, just the usual "how are you doing, anything new?" My blood chemistry results are checked and are all fine oestrogen levels are within the normal range for a female have been on the optimal dose for 9 months now so she said that all is going well and as results can take up to 2 years to show not to worry if i haven't had much of a change yet, testosterone level is right down to hardly anything which is great to know, I've been lucky that I haven't had any mood swings with emotions all over the place which some people get, very pleased about that really didn't want to be sobbing all the time.
Clinic is getting very busy they seem to be getting a lot of new referrals coming in so next appointment isn't for 5 months normally its 3, clearly more and more people are seeking help with gender issues hopefully GP's are understanding these problems and not telling people to go away and stop being sill as no none will help which is what I was told once by a very tactless Doctor, straight out of the Victorian era that guy, thankfully my current Doc is understanding tho not exactly what you would call clued up, still at least he is helpful.
So almost a 2 hour drive to Hammersmith as traffic was bad (normally journey is only 1h 20m), went with a friend who also had appointment today so could car share, she had to go for a blood test as her GP didn't think it was worth bothering about (another silly Doc there!) then a 3 hour! drive going back and it rained, what a way to spend a day, didn't even get time for a cuppa up there, oh well at least its not like I have to go every week.
