Well worth a try...at only £3 admission, including buffet and free glass of champers. The event was busy and well attended, had reasonable pace and involved the audience (gulp)! |

Although im not into cabaret, which Lip gloss essentially is, I still had a good night meeting a few girls I knew and a couple new to me.

Had a fantastic evening, venue was lovely - very friendly and welcoming and perfect for a first time girl like me (and a couple of others I chatted to). Was a shame I couldn't stay til the bitter end but I had an early start the next day, it did also seem that a lot of the other girls left around the midnight mark. Will definitely go again (and again and again!) and look forward to the next one :-)

Lip Gloss 'Battle of the Queens' beauty pageant Every month, along side the regular entertainment and fun the girls hold a mini beauty pageant that sees a 'queen of the month' being elected at every event. (It's a bit of fun, but if you are lucky enough to be crowned it's actually incredibly encouraging and great for your confidence). Tonight saw the return of ten girls (across the entire tg spectrum) from the past year or so to compete in a spectacular evening with a list of awards, prizes and titles as long as your arm. Little ol me was in that line up and I had my stockings truly knocked off... The place was rammed with supporters for all the girls involved. Despite us all being racked with nerves the crowd were AMAZING and really got behind every single of the ten girls. Apart from crapping myself I was also floating on air and truly overwhelmed by the support. It's SO good to see such a cross section of the community supporting all of the girls - the atmosphere should have been bottled. I doubt there could be A more accepting and open atmosphere any where else. The organisers do all of this for free, simply to support any one and everyone on the tg spectrum and they truly excelled themselves with the event. Not every Lip Gloss night is this lavish, but the atmosphere and support is ALWAYS there. I was very lucky to win a few award including achieving 2nd place overall (!!) for which I'm extremely (shocked!) and grateful. Seriously, if you've never been, go. If you're not into 'tranny' events just try it as you will be pleasantly surprised (there's a fab mixture of people there) If you have never been out but want to then this is the perfect starting place ...and who knows, maybe this time next year you could be writing your review, feeling on top of the world, surrounded by crowns, sashes and flowers having taken part in the second 'Battle of the Queens' Sorry for the essay and...good luck :) |

I think if you want a nice friendly night out with a mixed crowd of people then this is great. For three pounds entry you get nibbles and some entertainment. Perhaps the latter is overdone because there is little opportunity to have a dance in spite of there being a very good DJ. Michelle xx |

Great night out in the ever so friendly Eden bar. Lipgloss was packed out. Lots of fun and smiles--- awesome girls and great music what more could you want for three pounds entry

Lip gloss is one awesome night, and as ever, it didn't disappoint :) The girls who organise LG are fab and make a huge effort to bring us a fun and entertaining night each month. If you're in the midlands you need this in your life (!) if you realllly want to go out dressed but haven't or are fairly new to it it then you couldn't want for a better place: its positioned in the gay village so one thing youre not going to do is stand out (unless you want to hehe) or have any attitude directed your way, there's a well lit, safe car park about 30 wiggles away and once your inside... The night has a mix of performers, dancing, games, strippers a buffet etc etc and wine, lots and lots of wine!!! there's always a friendly mix of boys, girls, 'girls' and everything in between :) all comers really are welcome We normally end up seeing in the early hours at the village inn just a 100 or so yards up the road - and it's always a friendly, fun and accepting vibe in there too. And all this for £3 to get in!!!!!! Thank god for Lip Gloss :) |
