Seeing as its Trans Pride here on the 30th of March 2019 I thought it best to try
and start a regular Dundee event. The walk for Trans Pride starts at 12:30.
Stalls, entertainment and performances will start after the walk.
The starting point is McManus Galleries end point apparently is in Dundee
University in Bonar Hall, up Perth Road.
We can meet up in The Salty Dog at 7:00 pm, its small so may have to move to
The Klozet. Food maybe a problem though, so maybe you should eat before. Plenty of take
Always, sit ins and coffee shops etc with in the 2 main shopping centres. Or you could order in.
TBH I do not if I can attend but I shall try my hardest to be there. I just thought I would put it out there as there is nothing happening here on the east coast.
Hopefully with the walk taking place and the bars are sure to be fuller and further
coupled with a wide spectrum of interesting people and banter from people far or
locally based.
We do get a large influx of students in the city so the bars are generally are vibrant
and in party mode. All the venues have a DJ/VJ and play good music as
well, not my bag but still good.
Ideally this is a chance for local bois and gurls to try have a regular social
event because getting to the fabby events in Glasgow or Edinburgh is either hard,
expensive or a very long journey.
Pubs and clubs that are trans friendly are as follows:
Abode Bar, 22 St Andrews Street. Over the road from the bus station.
Klozet Bar. Seagate, on same street and side as the bus station but further up
Seagate towards the city centre.
The Salty Dog, 9 Crichton Street. Opposite Overgate Centre.
Pout. St Andrews Street. Opposite Abode Bar
Parking is abundant on street and off street.
Hotels are popping up here like a monopoly board so there is a lot of choice in and
near the city centre.
I did see that a room as little as £28, the backpackers is over the City Square 1 min walk to
The Salty Dog which is ideal. You do need ID I believe when using this hotel. Check
on the official web page.
