Home of Outskirts, Birmingham's social support group for trans people and their friends.Equator Bar is always a friendly place towards trans people at any time. Outskirts meets there on the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month. Most people arrive around 8.00pm, bar closes around midnight. There is a well lit NCP car park nearby and an open car-park just down the road.
It is a mixed gay bar, smart and comfortable with food served during the day.

We've re-launched Birmingham Belles as a regular meet-up on the third Saturday every month. Meet up in Equator on Hurst St at 8 pm and then head off later with friends around the gay village area. Visit Missing, Loft, the Fox, the Village Inn, the Fountain or venture further afield - and if you want to club through the early hours there's Nightingales night club. Anyone on the Trans spectrum and their partners are welcome, there is no 'dress code', wear whatever you are comfortable in - as long as it's suitable for public viewing! Hope to see you on Saturday! |

Our second meet-up of the relaunched Belles and it was a great night. 18 Belles met up in Equator for a drink and chat to others. I stayed there until around 10.30 before moving round to The Fox, one of my favourites, with live music in the garden and a dj inside. Danced on the bench along the side of the bar and it felt just like the old Belles :)

A great night around the Birmingham Village. I stayed in the Equator for a couple of hours and then moved on to Fox, another favourite, with a friend. Found several other Belles who'd moved round there earlier :) Overall about a dozen girls on this relaunch night despite the short notice and the rain, hoping it will continue to grow in following months. |

A great night out around the various bars of the Birmingham Village. Met old friends and made new ones; relaxed and chatted in a positive affirming environment. Drove in and parked close by for free, so drinking alcohol-free - which meant it was also cheaper than a night out in my local!
