a great night with lots of girls but the drag acts are awful cant sing and the same jokes in the same order all we want to do is dance and chat . why they have the same act i dont know . i have heard the performance to many times now . will have to look elsewhere soon i think . it was much better in fact great before the drag acts got there xx

Nice to see a lot of friendly familiar faces and some new ones too. The next one is Miss Golden Girl, for which I hope to fully fit for and without any family commitments before hand so that I can keep any eye on the drag acts length of performance

I was running very late Friday and didn't have time to dress up which is a bit boring I know but everybody knows me and had a really good time catching up with people I haven't seen for a few months ...Gaynor was looking very gold I must say ...I shall have to steal her outfit as I like shiny things :D

Another excellent night at golden girls. plenty of friendly people to chat to and dance with, free cabaret drag comedienne and singer then disco till late. Cheap drinks plus plenty of Tgirls and a cracking night. Looking forward to the next one.

I went to the golden cross venue for the first time and i really enjoyed it there also i made a lot of new friends,its the place to go and have a great night out, cindy.

My first time out in the wild! It was excellent and thanks to all for your lovely comments. Loved the drag queens and made the amazing discovery that dancing in heels makes your toes go numb! Looking forward to next time. XX

I wasn't able to make this months outing unfortunately but do know that I missed a good night out with some very very lovely and friendly people ,there's not many organised social events in this neck of the woods where we can all come together and enjoy a night on the town ,Gaynor goes to a lot of trouble organising these do's where everybody is welcome and encourages those who may never have had the opportunity mix and mingle with other kindred spirits out before ...if you have always thought about getting out then this is an ideal event for you to take those first steps out :D

fabulass Fabulas darling night at the golden. Lots of girls there (more than 'ordinary' people some of the time) including some first timers which is always nice to see plus plenty of the regulars. A great singer before the main event of the night. Our little stint as the andrews sisters/golden girls doing Candyman went down a treat then shed loads of dancing to great music going on till well after 1am. It doesn't get much better than this. More more, again again and yes in one months time there will be! |

Firstly, let me say sorry for the delay in posting :) x What can I say? What a difference!! What a night!!! What a lovely crowd of girls!!!! Full marks to Gaynor again! She sorted out the confusion with the new management, and I must say, the results were all good! Only one act, instead of the two we had to tolerate the time before, and on the plus side, not only was she pretty, but she could actually sing, and her songs were all known and danceable! No problem with that here!!! She left the stage in a timely way, and the dancing music started, as did all us dancing girls :) And best of all, it went on until 2:00am!!! I don't know how many girls were there, (statistic nerds, please ask Gaynor! Lol!), but I can say there were a lot - 20 or so at a guess, all friendly and looking gorgeous, if I may say so! The Golden Girls event has now been moved out to once a month, which I think is a double edged sword - on the one hand, sadly, there's less chance for all us girls to get together and socialise, but on the other, (and more positive, imho), hand, I think it will become a more 'special' event, drawing more girls locally, and from further afield. The end result being Golden Girls will have a much higher attendance, (happy with that!), and the knock on is that Gaynor will have more 'clout' with the management, so 'win-win' on monthly :) . It gets my vote, anyway! :) NOTE: The next bit isn't a criticism of the night, but more a personal opinion of my own: Maybe I'm being a bit picky here, (and if the other girls don't agree, I'll just shut-up! Haha!), but the dj seems to be a bit short of tracks to play, resulting in the never ending Abba mix, and one or two other over-extended mixes.... To be honest, at least we can dance, but, as an old raver, it would be nice to have a little hard dance mixed in, and perhaps a classic tune or two? Having said that, sod's law strikes and I can't think off the top of my head of a single track!! Lol! (I'll have to hunt through my cds and post a suggested playlist now, I suppose....). So to sum up, ignoring my own bitching of course, I would say 10/10 for Golden Girls, and once again, a round of applause for Gaynor - what a wonderful girl! My projected score for the next night at the Cross? Definitely 11/10, quite possibly 12/10! Lol!! So....there you go! Sound good? Yes? Then all I can say, dear readers, is get out your party dresses, jump in the car, and get your asses down to the next Golden Girls event and let's put the Cross well and truly on the map!!! (Erm....umm....*cough*....I don't think I'll be able to attend the coming one....*blush*....that's my street-cred as ace reporter down the toilet :( lol!! I'm working on it, tho :) haha!). Enjoyed watching the singer on stage belting out dance songs, and seeing some of the girls having fun dancing to her, followed by some really good dance tracks, and gradually the room filled up with loads of girls dancing. Great to watch people lose their inhibitions, this was fun to see, if only I could dance. Lovely cosy place to be!
