A GREAT night out at the golden. So glad we got this venue back. A huge turnout of girls including some newbie's on their first ever time out in public (way to go girls!) and entertainment provided by the golden was good tho the drag diva did outstay her welcome a bit which meant the blues sisters were rather late on stage. Still. We blitzed the place and went down a storm. just no handstands. Well, belushi might have been able to, gaynor and me are a bit less athletic! can't wait till the next one.

Unusually the management had booked two acts on for that night, plus our own act (which we do for nothing as we love doing it and we are amateur). When the disco started the dance floor filled up and we had a good time, I was physically exhausted after doing the Blues Brothers but hopefully people had a laugh out of us looking foolish! Nice to see a lot of us there. xxx

I had a wonderful time at the Golden Cross, plenty of fun was had and nice to meet the delightful and most friendly Gaynor whom made me most welcome and introduced me to many nice girls from South Wales. I look forward to the next one |

Just need to reiterate that this is a FREE event. The new management are aware of what we are used to there and are very willing to help keep it that way and improve it in any way beneficial to us. So as far as I can see they did just that at this event, and we all had a fab, fun time all around, Thanks to those that made the effort to support this event: - it was started up by me in an effort to get us all together in one place in Wales where you are treated like women on a night out, and where you can experience what its like mixing with the regulars outside of our T-World. I meant it to be a non-cliquey event, so that no-one gets left out or feels on their own, especially new people who have just come out in public for the first time. I am there to listen to anyone who has problems getting out, I have even picked up people from their homes and taken them back after. I have also offered free makeovers to anyone wishing to attend for their first time out. Sadly I may well not be able to do that now, due to a shock at home, which might well restrict what i do. However the show must go on, and if I am not there Julia will takeover. Gaynor Jones xxx

What a fabulous fabulous night out. the Golden is such a lovely friendly venue and with a free drag act provided by the owners we were royally entertained. then The Golden girls did our village people tribute which was predictable 'in the navy and YMCA' but talk about going down a storm. the whole place joined in and the stage was packed with people who just wanted to join is. Then hours of dancing to great music and all for free. The new security pie hot turning drunks away, friendly staff it's hard to imagine how anywhere could be better for us trans folk. Pity it wasn't supported very well but those who came will tell you. It was absolutely Crakin!

another great night at the cross gaynor never fails to deliver a great time out for all the gurls and boys. just a pity it looks like the last one there have had some fab nights hope the new venue is even better . knowing gaynor im sure it will be xxx

Oh what a night! This was as good as it gets. A truly wonderful night with lots of friendly people haveing a fab time and dancing fit to bust to some fab music. Our turn as Tina Turner doing proud mary was also well received. It's hard to imagine how this could get much better but sadly the golden's future is still uncertain. Or at least these events here. Fingers crossed the new owners will be sympathetic to us trans folk. if not we shall just have to take the Golden girls somewhere else.
