Back in 1999 Sue Sheppard, the shops owner was struggling to find a reliable source for ladies boots and shoes in larger male sizes, By a complete one in a millon chance she made contact with o ne Steve Pateman, then a manufacturer of a struggling mens shoes company.
The resultant phone call is said by Steve in his book to be a major inspiration for the firm to start making larger size ladies shoes for the cross dressing and fetish market. His endevours were followed by the BBC in its trouble at the top series. A subsequent hollywood film was made inspited by this true story. Later a cult musical Kinky Boots was made with lyrics from Cindi Lauper.
