Have attended many events across the country and a number of Invasions in Nottingham. My main attraction to Nottingham Invasion is the fantastic group of gurlz that attend and of course its local to me. Also very friendly / welcoming by the event organisers (Samantha Coolbeans and Maddy Watson) and the meeting place at The Forester Arms is an ideal venue to catch up with everyone before heading out on the town. The thing I like best about Nottingham Invasion is that we do a number of bars including LGBT and straight bars. So if your tired of attending gay clubs / pubs all the time, head for Nottingham Invasion where you will be welcomed in establishments such as Revolutions Vodka Bar, Oceana Night Club to name but a few. Of course there are a number of LGBT clubs too including NG1 (voted top LGBT Night Club in the East Midlands). Most of the Invasion head off in groups and generally meet up back at the starting point (New Foresters Arms) in the early hours for food and approved taxi's home. If your tired of doing the same main stream events then certainly give Nottingham Invasion a try. You wont be disappointed and it offer Trans people a unique and different experience. When writing this review I attended the November 2012 Invasion, we attended The New Market Bar (Gay Bar) and then over the road to Oceana (Straight Club) where we were all well received (inc an amazing drink offer for Friday nights, Buy one get 2 FREE. For example, a bottle of BUD was £4.80 for three bottles, J2O was £3.10 for three bottles! Hence to say I had a few quid left at the end of my night lol.. Uploaded a few pics too to this review. What can I say, first outing in "real"world and Nottingham Invasion was fabulous. New Foresters pub was very welcoming,the Invasion girls there were lovely, & the staff great. Despite very wet weather we ended up at Oceana, again very friendly staff and all the regular clubbers joined in with our fun. Danced until Very late and back to New Foresters for final drinks and home. Highly recommended for newbies or more experienced girls. Thank you all. Xxx |

Everyone who attended was so friendly. I was made to feel very welcome. I went by myself, so no worries if you are going to the Invasion by yourself, you won't be stood by yourself. The venues were great, some a little on the quiet side but that probably isn't usual. Had a few drinks and a good dance. The bars are a little further to walk than I'm used to but I'm just a lazy cow, so next time would take flats to walk between some of the bars. If you haven't tried the Invasion, then you really should! As far as I'm aware it's the only trans event in the east midlands - so make sure you support it!! xxxxx |

Missed the last two events , so was eager to be out for this one. Lots of new faces and a good time had by all. Will have to join the girls for a meal next time before the Invasion begins. Very pleasant night and safe too. |

Went to the Nottingham Invasion with my other half and a group of non-trans friends. Even though we didn't stay out particularly late we had a fab time. The Newmarket Inn is my new favourite pub! And such lovely barmaids too - every one of them trans. My only negative points are, firstly, I'd say the New Foresters could do with a makeover (sorry) and, secondly, NG1 seems to attract brattish, straight teenagers - one of whom thought spraying booze around was a good idea like some kind of drunken tomcat. However, I very much like nights out where you can move about from place to place (Manchester's good for this too). These days, I also feel less and less constrained only to go where 'we' hang out so who knows - maybe next time I'll go to The Newmarket Inn and then The Jam Cafe. Or Revolution... |

A fantastic night out and about the pubs and clubs in Nottingham.A great bunch of friendly girls.We started off in the New Foresters,then went onto the Newmarket after which some girls went up to Propaganda and another club.We went off to NG1 and we all ended up back at the New Foresters for the end of the night.Cant wait until next months Invasion now.

Well what can I say about Nottingham... Mmm...... Except for the rain what a good night it turned out to be! Our party met up with everyone at the New Foresters pub in downtown Nottingham. The place started to fill up and more and more girls arrived. We were made very welcome (well if you know me I'll talk to anyone! lol) One of the organisers of the event, Sam (Samantha) chatted and 'escorted' us around the venues. If I can remember they were the New Foresters (there is another pub called the Foresters! confusing hehe) New Market pub, F&G bar, Propaganda bar, Oceania night club then back to New Foresters for the last hour Left at 3.30am it was still open and serving food! lol Not all the venues are gay bars but all are very TGirl friendly, you even get a discount at the Oceania! lol These were not the only pubs/clubs around Nottingham centre the Invasion crowd get too! On the night I met some really lovely friendly people - Sam, Janice and Pam as well as Tina and Crystal to name a few and chatted to lots of others and I had my pic taken with and chatted to the local guys and girls on their night out in Nottingham. Considering it was a bad night weatherwise there were about 50 plus girls and admirers out. Definitely go again and its well worth a visit for a good night out.
