If you have never left your private space, I'm sure that this venue is a great way to make your first public appearance. It was my first and probably last time there as it really didn't spark any interest for me whatsoever. Certainly not in comparison to LFF. The company I was with were fantastic but that is clearly nothing to do with the venue. People complain about slow bar staff at the Marriott. My gosh they should try the surly snails at PP. I also met a couple of gay girls who were complaining about being "hit upon" by straight guys. They said it used to be very LGBT but no longer. I wouldn't know, I'm just reporting their experience. It's great that it goes through to the morning but it needs to as it doesn't open until 10pm and doesn't really start getting going until 11pm. |

Another great night at PP`s. Kareoke Bar is fabulous with a great fun DJ. Great tunes in the main floor,, danced till 5am. Lovely Burger & Chips in the diner too at about 3am ! All in all a fabulous ,wonderful fun filled night . |

BNO? Brilliant Night Out. Bit busier this month and perfect fun as ever. From wriggling my uncoodinated bod lol to murdering Bad Romance at Karaoke, meeting so many interesting and beautiful people from here and elsewhere in person and just enjoying the crowd. Safe, freindly security was good as ever, Its always a fun night out for me. From drinks in the Camp to staggering back at 5am its great. I like it precisely because its not a T girl Ghetto. All human life there from the LGBT crowd to straights. TBh as time goes on and difference is more accepted in wider society the fact that its not exclusively a gay venue anymore is kind of good. It shows that we are part of society rather than hidden away and ridiculed as we have been for so much of my life. BNO? Maybe not what it once was but change is as good as a rest!

Got to the Campanile in the afternoon and went to the bar for a swift one with my friends. We ate before going to change into our outfits for the evening. When we got down there were a few girls there some chatting while others were belting out some tunes on the karaoke with varying levels skill! The girls in the Camp started to go to BNO AT 10:00 in a slow trickle.when we went at around 11:00 we didn’t have to queue really and we were in after only a couple of minutes. I was pretty busy with plenty of tgirls there but you could always get a seat if you wanted one. One of our number was a newbie so we showed her around to all areas and all seemed busy.it’s quite a friendly place and if you are on your own one of the groups of girls will normally invite you to join them and if you join girls you don’t know you’ll soon be chatting away with them like you have known them for years! If you ask anyone to take your pic for you everyone obliges happily. One thing that has been re introduce since I last went was the Pinks photographer was going around catching us girls having fun and it’s always quite a thrill to see yourself on their website and as it’s a professional photographer they are normally very good and if you don’t want a pic taken the photographer won’t hassle you! A check of the watch and I realised that it was after 3:00 time to go back to the hotel but I believe it doesn’t close till 6:00 for you party animals! |

Postscript 3rd October... Re. The BNO...it’s all very subjective. As you can see, other gurls had ”an amazing night out” on the 9th September and think it’s the be all, and end all of all nightclubs. The second last pre-Covid time I went at the end of 2019... a) All the different areas of the very large club were absolutely packed...the outside long bar, the ground floor and basement dance floors, the all night diner and the lounge upstairs had a heaving, bustling, dynamic atmosphere and a stylish mature range of people, both trans, and vanilla. b) I danced myself to a complete standstill with both blokes and ladies on the packed dance floor. c) This time, all the areas were completely devoid of any large numbers as you normally get in a popular pub, wine bar or club. The few disparate groups of gurls, or very young boys and girls just rattled around like marbles in a very large, and empty tin box. d) Having gone to the ladies on the ground floor, the DJ was playing Shania Twain’s “I Feel Like A Woman”. I thought “Ooo, let’s go upstairs and get my Partner quickly to come down and have a bop” and I looked at the deserted dance floor with a handful of people on it with the bored security staff looking on, and the ear-piercing level of the music...with no physical bodies to soak the sound waves up...and thought “Nope, it won’t be an enjoyable experience for either of us!” I’ve always loved discos, nightclubs, good dance music...am going to the much delayed Oktoberfest and the Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show in Steyne Gardens in Worthing in a couple of weekend's time again...but without the full mass of people in the building, Pink Punters and the BNOs are now sadly a pale shadow of their former selves. ...very disappointing... We had a lovely evening but...having returned after the Covid driven hiatus to see how the club was faring having read the recent Reviews, it’s clear that the club has lost the high and busy level of attendance and that very special rhythm driven human energy on a packed dance floor that made a BNO extra special in previous years. The lesser numbers up in the Lounge, and the barren dance floor on the Ground level with the deafening level of the music being played sadly detracted from the “feel good” factor. Thank goodness for the small and cosy Karaoke lounge. Every nightclub has its “Zeitgeist”...it’s high point, and then it slowly falls away and dissipates. We hope, in the post-Covid, economic chaotic world, that PP and the BNO’s can draw the punters back in and create the magic again. |
