Brilliant evening, ....quiz night, curry and a glass of wine all topped of with a great atmosphere. Cannot praise this place enough, and all the good comments are now stretching out to a big radius. Our latest visitor travelled from Sheffield... Glad you enjoyed yourself Nicola!!

WoW, .... thanks to everyone for a fantastic turnout.... 16 girls showed up with some travelling a good distance just to get there, and all because of the great reports the place has received recently. This is just what the majority of us want, a nice friendly normal pub where we can just socialise without the need to shout to be heard. I now call this my new "happy place" As well as the 16 girls who turned up we were joined by 10 locals for a chunk of the evening and a great night was had by all. If you've never been here yet, then please give it a try. They have a selection of beers and wines, or coffee if that's all you want, plus good home food served up to 9pm. All at good prices. ...The staff are really friendly as too are the locals. There is plenty of street parking close by to be had, including resident parking bays after 6pm. Should you wish to stay overnight you are only a short walk from the Premier Inn. If you require any further information then please either contact me, or Michelle Pink. But Please! ... Don't forget to put your name down as attending, that way we have some idea of numbers, plus you can leave a review afterwards. Happy days!! |

Excellent new venue. Well worth the travel. Staff and other customers very friendly and accepting and mixed well giving a group size of at least 26. A really good night.

What a lovely little Pub. The staff are great and treat you like any other girl in the Pub. The local customers are friendly and very chatty. A idea midweek venue. |

What a lovely place ...friendly staff and a great bunch of girls...couldn't see any grils. ..but cracking bunch of chixsters. ...VERY welcoming lovely food available and the regulars joined in wirh us too ...definitely coming back xxx

The Bird Cage is a great traditional Free house community pub, With a good selection of real ales and exceptional food as well. The staff are very friendly as are the locals in the pub. The pub has a cosy feel to the place and is newly decorated. So if you fancy a mid week meet in a friendly atmosphere then pop along. |

If you enjoy loud music and not bothered about conversation then this is the place for you on a Wednesday night... Unfortunately for now this is keeping a few people away. In the past I have always given 5* ratings acros the board, but because of the head hurting music I have dropped it... This is just my own personal opinion, and as per normal not everyone agrees.... However they are supposed to be opening up a room upstairs, which may help but no one knows yet until it's opened and been tried. Even then it may only be a case of when organised groups want to use it, or if the bar staff can be bothered? Apart from that, the staff and owner are lovely, the venue is friendly and safe. There is parking around the back in the City council carpark @ £2.60, or you can park for free a bit further up the hill past the Pizza house. I have parked up there without any issues, and if you are confident then it's just a case of walking down the road. |

I love meeting up with my friends on a Wednesday night, however the noise levels generated by the drag queen and her open mike night are fast becoming a put off for a few girls... If you like loud music, weekly renditions of frozen and an inability to hold a audible conversation, then this is the place for you... We are all hoping that this will end soon, but as it was supposed to finish at Christmas and it's still happening...! |

I was ok girls were friendly although it was difficult to talk as the music was so loud but at least I had. Somewhere to go mid week

Convenient venue with friendly staff and security on the door. Unfortunately let down by overly loud music played by the resident drag DJ. If the music was turned down a notch we might be able to carry out a conversation without having to shout or lip read. |
