***12 to 14 July 2013**** I enjoyed Sparkle 13, because of the company and the friends you catch up with and make while you're there. It was the warmest Sparkle I've been to.. not a hint of rain during the 4 days in Manchester! (some record? lol) We stayed at the Atrium, but also no air-con only a fan too circulate the warm air! Still the accommodation was pleasant enough. Day 1 we met at Taurus for Linda's charity cake and tombola raising funds for Macmillan... a worthy cause. out at night we ate at Sanctuary on Sackville St another Bar to add to the numerous ones to visit very friendly staff and good surroundings. Popped into the Molly House on Richmond St to see Yvonne and the other girls entertaining as part of the Irish Sparkles,Molly House is a trendy Bar with no DJ or Music normaly... very good place to chat!
Day 2 up early to get ready for the day out, summer dress code and sunglasses! Coffee at Via on Canal St good place to meet up and chat to friends, eventually making our way to the party in Sackville Gardens. for the main event... good music lovely weather and lots of stalls as well as wall to wall TGirls, what else could you ask for! x The night was as warm as the one before some fabulous dresses out tonight and the street was heaving bars full and tonight the restaurant was Velvet Hotel and restaurant on Canal St which was a bit hot and stuffy! Nice food tho'.... taking a turn on Richmond street and adding a few bars we missed yesterday we eventually end up at Via (it was cooler than most places! A late night never got to Naps or New York New York! both good venues.
Day 3 Usually the quietest of the 3 days of sparkle, A trip into Manchester for Shopping, a good place to shop dressed and blend in! tonight's restaurant was Eden again on Canal St over the canal, we had a nice meal and a bar quiz! Onward to Velvet Bar, Taurus, Richmond Tea Rooms, Vanilla, Churchill's, Via Naps and finally the New Union (what a funny (strange) place that is!)... There were lots of venues we didn't even get to..... Still there's always Sparkle 14! ..... So 3 days of girly merriment over a suitcase of washing left and the 4 day parking to pay! (not to worry Charles Street is reasonable Friday lunch to Monday mid morn was £22....... well worth it! To everyone I met, said Hi to, waved at, spoke with, drank and ate with thank you for a really lovely weekend hope to see each of you out there at some venue or other.... if you see me out say Hello and remind who you are if we've met before! lol Hugs Lou xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

A fairly quiet day followed by a hectic night, most moving moment of the weekend was the unveiling of the Trans memorial garden in Sackville park....once more Manchester leads the way.
Lunch at Villagio's followed by a wander round trying to spot familiar faces..and then....
The evening end of Sparkle party at Via as always was first class....DJaying provided by the hilarious Lee Starr for the first half of the evening then Valentino King taking over for the latter half of the night....a good selection of music from the 80's onward for those who prefer it (like myself) and a heartfelt speech from Tony to close the weekend made thi

Whats to say...beautiful weather,Sparkle in the park, followed by a night out with friends (sadly leading to me being slightly under the weather "blush").
Lunch in Via then the park, then Polari again in the evening (yes there is a thread here :) ).
Marvellous company accompanied by the usual outstanding service makes Via my venue of choice on Canal Street,I'm sure others have their preferences but who cares :)

Well thats another Sparkle, Friday night we went to the Chinese Banquet, which unfortunately was the worst part of the weekend....the meal was rushed and there was a sense that they didn't really appreciate having us there...still c'est la vie.
After the meal it was a stroll down Canal Street to Via and downstairs to Polari....and as always Tony and his staff couldn't be more friendly and welcoming.
