Have now been to Saturday night Safe Haven parties a few times now and have always had a great time. Hosts Pixie and Paula are two of the most warm and welcoming people you could ever hope to meet. The venue has a lovely relaxed atmosphere with a bar, seating and dancefloor for those bold enough to throw some shapes! You can even pre book on site accomodation for those wishing to make a weekend experience of it. Come along to meet some lovely, genuine people and you will not regret it :-)

After recently discovering the Batcave i thought what better place for my first social outing.Theres not a lot of choice here in Cornwall lol.Had already read great things about the place.I was not disappointed!!.Pixie and Paula really have gone above and beyond to create an amazing place.Everyone was so lovely and easy to talk with(handy when there's a power cut!).Fantastic stress free atmosphere where you can bust some moves on the dance floor or just talk the night away with all the great people there.Cannot speak highly enough of this place and the peeps.Made some new friends so easily(and I'm a quiet person who struggles with social things)who I will stay in contact with.Don't hesitate if you're planning on your first night out this is the place to go.Fantastic!!!xxxx

First Saturday and the monthly Safe Haven party was a blast. Hosts Pixie and Paula make sure that everyone is made to feel welcome and to allay any nerves or fears. I beleive there were quite a few girls there which was their first time out. Music was provided by Stevie D all the classics to sing along to and a good time was had by one and all

It was a quiet night which was probably due to the appalling weather a few days before. There were the usual suspects and a few new faces which is always good.

I didn't stay for long because I just popped in to say hi so I can't comment more than that :-)

I'd hoped to write a very good review for Paula's event, and put off writing it. But best a review than none at all.

'Safe Haven Party' at The Batcave is a warm and welcoming event, ideally suited to someone who hasn't come out in public yet.

I believe that it is also a bit like Leeds First Friday for the Southwest - because it has drawn some lovely trans folks from as far away as Exeter, Dorset and South Wales, as well as the lovely locals! I ask you: what other support-group event has such a draw - and overnight accommodation on site? (There might be some: let me know about them). But probably not many.

P & P run a wonderfully supportive, safe, warm and hospitable event in a place - that to many of us who travel a long distance to get there - can feel like a faraway, and peaceful country. It would be a great place to go to for someone who hasn't been out in public yet.

'Admirers' are not invited which makes for a welcome and calm atmosphere. In winter, the setting is a little austere as Cornwall can make a night in a static caravan a little cold, despite the warm duvet.

If you're even thinking about making the trip by now then good on you - it's worth it. I look forward to going back again and reconnecting with new friends.

In this case: just say yes :)

*hugs

A
