Christmas LLF 1/12/23 … … on my way driving down to Leeds on the A1M... snow covers the fields and rooftops .. aw how “Christmassy” time for a carol … although I’m starting to wish I’d brought my thermals … Later … Katie’s In the bars lots of people here and it’s time to party.. music plays.. and we just have to dance don’t we .. its a freezing cold night and the bouncers (sorry door controllers) huddle around fires to keep warm as a snow plough gets stuck in Brigatte (slight exaggeration .. did see a gritter on the way though) … Upstairs in Blayds and they've got a gig on … two drag queens on the stage cracking jokes haven't laughed yet but you never know they might think of something funny lol it is nearly Christmas! took a photo next to their Christmas tree and offer to buy them a drink.. gin and tonics ! Now they do make me laugh but still bought them one well it is Christmas! Hung around with Sue we make our way around the various bars dancing of course We go to The End and Smokestack having a great time I order my favourite cocktail ”the hurricane“ new bar staff didn’t light it up what a shame .. A woman jumps in an pays for it and says “that’s for being you “ aw thanks hon, now I know it’s Christmas .. I give her one of my random Christmas card addressed to "a random person I don’t know but I do now“ it’s fun you should try it … The night goes on .. on my way to Queens Court I help some children build an igloo what a night ffs this is getting hard work but they were really pleased with it lol there giggles echo in my ears as I brush off the snow and head into Queens Court … I feel the music enter my soul … and have to boogie … looking through the windows I see Father Christmas handing out presents to the kids in the igloo … amazing ! After visiting the New Penny for a night cap (as if I need one) I hitch a ride on a reindeer and I’m back at my hotel , Rudolf winks at me before trudging off through the driving snow … Back in my room now and after taking off my clothes and makeup I climb into bed thinking was that a dream but it wasn’t it was real … honestly! .. Merry Christmas everyone have a good one ! and to Amanda and Ginny ! who couldn’t make it as they were busy baking mince pies... Love Katie xx |

Omg another great night out at LFF met some lovely people and had such a good time in the Viaduct with a wonderful show and then later on smokestack very safe and friendly night out xx

The pre-Christmas LFF is always fabulous, great atmosphere in all the clubs and bars, love the seasonal shows at Viaduct stage and of course the soul groove at Smokestack later on. We enjoyed DJ Toni’s set at End Bar fantastic with lots of friends old and new in there on the dance floor. Simply a fantastic night out and can’t wait to get to Leeds again in 2024. |

The Christmas LFF was always going to be busy despite the rise in hotel prices and the cold Leeds night. It was fab to see so many familiar faces and it turned out to be yet another memorable evening. Venturing into Viaduct, Bridge, Blayds, Queens court, The Shed, Smokestack and The End bar made it a lively evening. My first time in the Shed, which is a rock music bar. I would definitely recommend this event to anyone. I met a few first timers last night and they were amazed on how easy it was to blend in and loved the whole night. Back in a couple of months. Have a very merry Christmas LFF’ers xx |

Fun night as usual. I started with drinks in Viaduct (top tip: the little cocktail bar is a nice way of avoiding the queue and slow service at the main bar). Then I headed down to Viva for Michelle’s “Feeding Friendsie” meal. As usual, a fun eclectic bunch and lovely service, a nice way to start the evening - highly recommended. After that it was mainly Smokestack all the way for me for dancing and drinks with good friends and great atmosphere.

A fabulous evening as always. It didn’t appear to be as busy as I’ve seen it but I suppose with the Christmas event just around the corner and the hotel prices being so expensive some might have missed last night and opted to go in December instead. Starting in the viaduct still feels a little strange but maybe that’s down to the fact that we had 2 great venues in the Cosmo and the Marriott previously where people could chat before hitting the various bars in the area. I was flying solo through the evening but did manage to chat to a lot of girls throughout a wonderful evening. I even managed to chat with a legendary hero of mine in Queens court, the fabulous David Dale, who’s drag act I saw on tv in 1984 (according to David, which shows my age!!). Thanks to everyone and I’ll see you again in December x |
