The staff at the Golden Cross made us feel very welcome, treated us like ladies, and generated loads of fun for us, so; - The night was a great success, we had trans-people from Gloucester, Bristol, Carmarthen, Swansea, miles away, coming into Cardiff, and some staying overnight. This was an interactive night between us trans- people, the regulars and the staff. - We all had hours of fun together: The barstaff showed us how to dance by jumping up on the bar, to show us all the correct movements to each and every dance, such as Hey Margarena, the Time Warp, YMCA, Superman etc, etc. So we were attempting to follow them, getting it wrong but having a laugh as a result. The stage was heaving with us all on it. I tried several times to count how many of us were in the Golden, but nobody would stand still. What is unique about this event is that we mix with the public, the place is full of characters, they like us, we like them. YES THEY WANT US BACK, AND WE WANT TO GO BACK. Even the shyest, youngest, amongst us LOVED IT! All ages, all types, all sizes together having fun being girls on a night out! Lots of new friends being made! All of this was free, no charge! VALUE FOR MONEY 5 STARS! We also had security on the door, but was not needed. |

what a brilliant night at a 'new' venue in cardiff. why should the bristolians have it all there way with glitzys? Anything they can do we can do, well as good. A great trun out, friendly people, stage a bit small, music rather too loud (conversation impossible) but that can be sorted. best memory of the night? me on the stage doing summer nights duet from grease with some gay? guy I never saw before in my life with me as sandy (of course) and loads of dancing. I hope there's another one because cardiff NEEDS this! |
