I know it’s a bit indulgent as the coordinator to write a review. But I wanted to as an attendee. Walking into Viaduct felt like home. Although it’s still unusual because it’s not the Marriott. I’m sure over time that will vanish. The atmosphere in there felt warm and welcoming. Lots of friendly faces and people chatting away. The music was a touch loud and we will have a chat to lower it. It didn’t pass the “do I need to lean in to hear you” test ☺️. The bar prices omg. I “know” they are lower because I was in the meetings. But to experience it is another thing. Sorry £3! Are we in the 1990’s? So that was very welcome! If LFF stretched to a week long event I’d still not get round to meeting everyone. There’s so many of us. It’s really lovely but also a source of slight sadness when you miss out being able to chat to people you wants to. Next time! Out of the Viaduct and over to newly refurbed Fibre. Well ground floor only. It’s an improvement. Seat layout seems to work better. And for the first time in years we colonised the ground floor which was brilliant. That alone made fibre more welcoming than it already it is. It was fun to be told by a lovely sweet staff member that we could get “20% off at the bar”. Knowing full well that LFF members with the app get 40% off! I did my best look of surprise. Off to The Bridge to see friends do a turn at karaoke. Totally missed them singing while chatting to people. Sorry! Lol. Busy busy. Didn’t see owners Gemma and Carrieanne behind the bar sadly. They are usually there injecting tons of enthusiasm to proceedings. Then off to The End bar. Recently opened venue in a hidden close off Lower Briggate that has rapidly gained favour with LFFers. En route I met Simon the owner of Queens Court. One of my eyelashes decided to have a malfunction at that moment. So that was a gentle reminder that these things happen no matter how much experience you have. Apparently glitter eyeshadow was the culprit. Now I know! Simon absolutely lovely and I’m sure we will have some announcements from Queens Court in the near future. The End bar was very busy around 1am. It was a picture of the perfect mix of people. A wide variety of LFFers both new and regular. People I didn’t know knew each other chatting away. It was lovely to see and felt really heart warming. The deals at The End had ended at 9pm so it was rude awakening to be hit with full price drinks again. Ouch! I was spoilt in Viaduct. Lol. Lots of great chat. Into the small hours and then time to call it a night before those double shots unravelled me. Lol. A genuinely lovely LFF. And an honour and a privilege to be involved in making it happen. Grai x |

Really good night at LFF on the 3rd. Viaduct are definitely stepping up to the plate as the Venus for the event. Good drinks pricing and much more seating both inside and out. Personally I think an initial period of calm in the venue to allow easy conversation for friends to catch up or to say Hi to new friends would be nice with plenty of time for all the usual that Viaduct has to offer a little later. Otherwise I would say an improvement on the Marriott !!!! Well done Viaduct !!!! |

A funny sort of an evening. Started well with dinner in Viva with Alana who went home after a drink in Malmaison. Meal was good in Viva and a lot better than several years ago. Bar at Malmaison deserted and only one couple in the restaurant. Decided to hang about so went to Smokestack and handed a complimentary glass of sauvignon before sitting at the downstairs bar with Margo and Kaye attending her first LFF. We then went to the Bridge which was very busy with T girls none of whom I knew apart from Jenny Bingham . Thought about the Penny but couldn't be arsed to pay the £2 entry so suggested Popworld instead. Big mistake - £5 entry. Promptly left there and decided to call it a day. Didn't bother with Fibre, Viaduct or Blayds. Someone said the refurb at Fibre appears to be confined to the ground floor. LFF has certainly changed. Smokestack remains lovely but as for the rest I'm not so sure but Kaye enjoyed it certainly so as everyone knows LFF is great for a first night out .

As always, LFF is a fantastic event. I generally (read always) go on my own but see people I have got to know over the time I have been going. This month saw a new start venue. Almost one year ago there was a new start venue at the Marriott. THEnumber of moans that it wasn't the same as the old ("tired") Cosmopolitan. Too damn right it wasn't. The Marriott was tons better. Now the moans are "the Viaduct is not the same as the Marriott". No it is not. But give it chance. I am sure the organisers of LFF have tweaks up their sleeves. However, IF you know of somewhere better that can accommodate everyone and is not too far for nervous newbies to walk from their hotels please let the organisers know about it. I'm sure they spent months looking but might have just overlooked a gem. |

My 52nd LFF and first time starting at its new home, the Viaduct due to Marriott hotel bar being converted. Viaduct not quite the same as the hotel start but Im sure we will get used to it in time. LFF is always an amazing night out, highly recommend to anyone wanting to get out for the first time. Gemma |

A new year and a new starting point for LFF. A shift from our historical hotel base, Cosmo and then the Marriott, to the Viaduct bar/club. So a different vibe and of course somewhere most of us have simply known as a bar/club rather than meeting point. Think we’ll need time to bed in and get used to that new feel, and how to make it our early evening home. As ever a great night out across the Freedom Quarter and the venues under the LFF banner. That’s a strength of LFF it’s a night out in more than one place, finding the venues you like, finding old and new friends as you move about. Jan was quiet in comparison to other months, always is at the start of the year. Yet I still didn’t get back to my hotel until after 5am 🤷🏻♀️😆 |

As usual had a great time. The Viaduct has always been a good venue and the staff are friendly, fab and they reminded me about Happy Hour! So that's a double bonus....... literally............ |

The new venue to meet Viaduct was very different to the Cosmo and Marriott. It felt quite cramped at the end where we were sat and a bit segregated. The event is fantastic but didn't feel like it has before and it's a shame. It must be hard to replace the Cosmo but the Viaduct is very different and last night's event was quiet so where do we all go when it's a busier evening? The toilets also leave a fair bit to be desired?! We ended up having a fabulous nights once we had found friends that were scattered all over and went to Blayds and The Bridge we're it was easier to mingle with other girls. My review is for the meet up point not the venue or the hole evening because lff is amazing |

On a personal note it was a slow burner but it was Jan after all, but by, didi it get going weird feeling being in Viaduct so early as i am used to being there later on when there is a younger crowd and bouncier music. Thee place to be at the Mo is Smokestack and cannot be faulted, staff are great, just lots of people having fun, nice vibe. Many thanks to those who co-ordinate, make all the calls, do the running around as it is appreciated by not only myself but everybody else. |
