Hi everyone. I wrote this on another thread but thought I'd share my experiences on here too: I had my first proper night out on Friday at LFF in Leeds and it was just so amazing I thought I'd let you know! :-) I'd been out a couple of times in the past dressed but it was quite a few years ago, and don't think I was anywhere need the stage I've found myself at over the last couple of months since I've been on Chix. To be fair, I was completely terrified before leaving the flat and had spent all day getting prepared with the butterflies flapping merrily around my tummy :-) But, I just knew that this was something I needed to do. I'd been hoping to meet up with some girls on here but the weather put paid to that sadly. There were more than a few wardrobe and make up malfunctions during my preparations, but finally (after a couple of glasses of wine!) I was ready and managed to summon up the courage to ring the taxi. I hardly said a word to the driver on the way down to The Cosmopolitan Hotel on the way, I was so nervous. When I went in, I headed straight for the bar!! I tried to catch a few people's eye and started talking to a lovely girl, Katie, who was with a group, some of who it was their first or second time out. I was put totally at ease and felt so relaxed just talking with people I'd only just met, everyone was so so friendly. And to be out dressed, it just felt really natural. We went round the bars round and about, and I really can say that I didn't hear a negative comment to or about anyone all night. Even when I got lost and separated from my new friends in the club, some other girls came and rescued me and took me in to their fold before I was reunited. Just being outside walking between bars, dressed with a nip in the air was such an incredible feeling :-) I really can't believe the whole experience could have gone any better, and I've come away with such wonderful memories, new friends and a boosted confidence - I even got some nice comments!! :-) I understand that some people aren't able to get out due to personal circumstances, and which is really sad because I know they are desperate to do so. I really hope they do get the opportunity because it has just been such a life affirming thing to do for me and would recommend it to everyone! I can't thank everyone on here and the few people I've recently come out to so much for their support to get me to this point. And to TVChix which has opened my eyes and helped me so much. 2nd time and loved it, despite numbers being down with the snow. Huge thanks again to Janie-Marie for her organisation and commitment. The girls are so supportive and helpful. Thanks for introducing me to some extra bars. For anyone wanting to get out, LFF is thoroughly recommended and I wish it wasn't only once a month. Thanks to everyone for making me feel welcome and make the event so liberating and so much fun. |

I had a wonderful time in Leeds once again and will be back there in June for another fun night of dancing. A really great place to start your journey to the outside world.

We had a fantastic night at LFF again and met lots of lovely people to speak to, can wait until the next. It doesn't matter if LFF is your first time out or a regular event there is something for everyone, it's brilliant to see so many friendly people having fun. |

This is such a fun friendly night out with all “the gurls” and the “Leeds alcohol appreciation society” lol All kinds of things happen .. come along .. you may even see a “flapper girl” dancing to northern soul .. love Katie xx |

Once again a wonderful evening chatting with friends, when we found a quiet corner, good food, compliments of Fibre, and entertainment at the Viaduct showbar. It was lovely to see Becky again and be able to enjoy conversations with her, Sally, and Susie. Thank you all for being such good company. |

Another great weekend at Leeds and LFF. It was my fourth visit and it gets better each time. Since my first visit I've made so many new friends and seem to make more each time. Also finding that if you're prepared to go off the usual route and venues there are plenty of places to cater for everyone, I even managed my first visit to a local restaurant... could LFF be improved? only by adding more hours to a day xx |

Another fantastic LFF which I enjoy immensely. I met lots of new friends, caught up with old ones and generally had a lovely time. LFF is one of the very best nights out and if you haven't tried it yet, you really should!

The usual ace night out with the usual lovely crowd. I really do think its the friendliest event on the T scene with something for everybody. If you want to chat stick to Cosmo or Smokestack. If you like a vibe stick to the rest . A great opportunity to study different styles and meet new people . I have never witnessed anything that concerned me in the slightest. Leeds is one hell of a city when it comes to civilised tolerant and inclusive behaviour. Also glad to see the girls are taking it steady these days. No sign of any dollies trollied lol . Best plan in those heels .
