Had an amazing time at my 2nd Sparkle. Everyone was really friendly and I met up with lots of new and old friends off chix. Weather was excellent this year and no hangovers either, yay ;-)

Hello Everyone.... Especially all the Sparklies and the StayCity Crew.. We are planning a bigger crew for next year, some 7 or 8 of us hopefully, and we may even be staying longer and extending the weekend. May i say that without doubt Sparkle weekend was the BEST WEEKEND i have ever ever had in my 54 years. I have never felt so alive. To all you new girls, a little like me this year, GO NEXT YEAR 2014, we will be around to support you. xx Paula x |

A review of Sparkle 2013..... Brilliant is all I can think of. Sparkle is definitely the BEST event weekend I've been to. This year the weather turned out perfect and made a great event even better but the whole concept and the organisation is just great, it makes it an event for everyone. I got there on Thursday and stayed until Monday to get every ounce of fun and enjoyment out of it and it was certainly worth it. Where else can a girl parade down the street, meet up with new people and sample the music and dancing at so many venues? In the daytime I just enjoyed chilling in the shade of the trees and getting into conversation with all sorts of new people and admiring or coveting the gorgeous outfits on the street. I made so many trips to and from my hotel that I was exhausted from hiking in my 5 inch shoes and had to resort to the lower heeled boots that were my only near "sensible" footwear. Some girls were actually sensible and brought flatties. At night it was supertart time. Go to town on the makeup and wear the shameless little leather skirt. Out to Velvet or Villagio for a meal or Via or ... well I was in all the venues at some stage. Sparkle in the park on saturday was great. I thought the "grand opening" bit was really well done despite a few hicoughs at the begining. I'd like to say that there is opportunity to expand the market aspect. Given the diverse crowd, I'm sure that some "serious" clothing retailers could do a roaring trade if they set up there. The great thing about Sparkle is that you always meet up with new people. Everyone is so friendly and I got the chance to catch up with a few of my TvChix friends in the flesh as well as meet and make new friends. It's SO social. The format is just fantastic for that. Another aspect that deserves mention are the talks and workshops etc. I didn't go to them but the subjects and speakers covered a wide range of topics that are part of the difficult and emotional journey of so many TG people. Thanks are due to the organisers for these efforts to help. I hope some of the obviously nervous newbies I saw around get the benefit. Congrats! Sparkle 2013 was in my view a complete success and everyone I spoke to had a blast. Wish I could get there every year. A memorable time and thanks a million to the hard working organisers. |

My 9th Sparkle, I haven't missed one :) It was great, probably the best yet. I'm really looking forward to next year's 10th anniversary Sparkle.

It was my fifth, and maybe best, visit to Sparkle. I always enjoy the afternoon in the park, but with the wonderful sunshine it was fabulous. It's nice being with so many happy relaxed people, and so much diversity. Huge thanks to the organisers. It must be hard work, but a brilliant outcome. |

Just a brilliant weekend, can't really fault any part of it apart from the rather brash, loud, uncouth gentleman who took too much stage time and air-space during the Miss Sparkle contest. But who cares, the rest of it was simply fab. J xx |

hi yet another fantastic sparkle weekend the weather was fantastic the atmosphere was wonderfull every body i spoke to including acts on stage,bar persons,gurls and a few admirers all said they had a fantastic weekend its brilliant cant wait for next year its the 10th anniversary that one should be a cracker x ps never have i seen so many happy smilling trans girls and boys and this was my 3 rd sparkle lets have even more next year |
