hi kavina here and just wanna say ,i have only been dressing a short while and this was my first time in public, thought i would be scared ,but found everybody friendly, helpfull,supportive,really cant say enough ,i had a fantastic partner for the weekend and made loads of new friends and maybe lovers xx,friday night was fantastic and a big thankyou to all the bars,staff,who made me feel so lovely and relaxed,saturday was a brilliant day and night the sun shined on us in the park brilliant entertainment and stalls and loads of friendly people,i felt wonderfull,saturday night chix's doo was fantastic actually did meet some people of the site that i knew,and a lot i did'nt but my friends list is going to be a lot fully now,venue was brill,just a perfect weekend,and a big ,wonderfull thankyou to chixs and sparkle i am now out of the closit and never going back xxx kavina

Disappointing attendance this year! Everyone blaming the recession, but price-hikes in accommodation at fault too! Weather was kind on Saturday, and the atmosphere was safe and friendly, as ever. The stewards in the Gardens deserve a thank you, pouncing on a minor fracas amongst some drunken lads instantly but politely! Just a lot of faces absent, hope they return next year! |

A long and tiring weekend, but a lovely time. Luckily the weather was excellent for Saturday in the Park.

This was my first time at Sparkle, it is a great event and I had a fantastic day out. Saw lots of friends, visited lots of great bars in and around Canal Street and made a note in my diary to go to Sparkle next year.

Pity it rained a little. Perhaps some of the bars could could use cover outside just for this prestigeous event. Otherwise it was great

Ventured to the park in the afternoon and have to say we were a bit disappointed (second year of attending Sparkle but first year of visiting the park where the stalls and entertainment are). Shame there's not more stalls selling decent stuff to buy. The right stalls would make a killing as plenty of people around. We expected more. One of the bands was ok but nothing to write home about. Comedienne afterwards was a bit rubbish so from our point of view entertainment was disappointing. However, Canal Street came alive during the evening. Went for a meal in Via which was good, staff very friendly and attentive. Ended up in View which was good although they could've done with more people behind the bar (but hey you get that everywhere). Great fun until it got too hot! Overall, I can thoroughly recommend Sparkle for the nightlife and Manchester is great for shopping. We both felt safe and there's plenty of different bars to try. |

Went to Eden for a meal on the Friday night which was absolutely superb. Great food. Headed to New York New York afterwards for a few drinks and a bit of a bop. Good venue until around midnight when it got a bit crowded for our liking (we're getting old now) so headed back to the hotel. Felt very safe. |

Loved the full weekend it was awsome brilliant in fact better than last year and it was nice and sunny saturday afternoon which was fab leona xx |
