Another Really brilliant night at Magic Theatre Clare and Darren/Sophey must take a lot of credit for putting on and promoting a fab night at at a reallly wonderfull venue. |

Well it must be 5 years I've been going to the Magic Theatre now... not once have I been disappointed. The atmosphere is always fantastic. The band are darn near always good (some better than others, but never less than good) - the DJ plays an eclectic mix of retro chewns - and everyone turns out in their finery. Saturday was again most excellent - as many through the door as on any night I have been (other than Halloween, obviously). Does the fact that the bar queues were never that long mean that someone at the Rivoli twigged that both bars need to be staffed properly on MT nights? So the Rivoli weaved its magic again - and a fabulous evening was had by one and all - as far as I could tell anyway, by the smiling faces!! The group of friends I went with loved it!! |

The usual good feel event that is the Magic theater. With everyone making an effort to dress up and look fab. Good live band. The down side is poor sound system and volume way way too loud ruining a lot of the nights chance for dancing for me as the sound was hurting my ears he whole night. |

A night out at the Magic Theatre in the Rivoli Ballroom, Brockley.... Its been ages since I was Last at MT and its lost none of its luster,,,, there was the usual eclectic mix of clientele with costumes ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous! The music was great and the Band thumped out there set of old tunes second to none! The cabaret was user friendly and customer participative! Well we love to show off once in a while!..... Again I didn't know what to expect or who would be there but thoroughly enjoyed the evening... chatted to old friends, met and dance with new ones and got photographed with anyone and everyone! shame the clocks went forward.... could have done with the extra sleep in the morning! The best event there is especially for partners as its such a mixed crowd with the emphasis on dressing up irrespective of your gender or gender confusion. Disco is always good, bar queues are long and formal (you have to queue in a line - very quaint) but actually its a really nice way to chat to people/get chatted up. The venue itself is a big draw - London's last old fashioned dance hall with all it's camp splendour. The live acts are usually good too. Two gripes - one the location is a bugger to get to and two they don't happen enough |
