Once more the Magic Theatre lived up to its name and provided us with a truly magic evening. Arriving earlier than almost everyone else it was great to see the premises almost empty and just soack up the special ambiance that the venue offers. Miss Claire looked luscious in her latex cat suit - meeeeoooow!!! There weren't as many as usual in attendance this time and that actually was good news as people had space around them and the dance floor didn't get too crowded. As ever, the music was excellent, be it the dj, the band or those around me who were just songing along. One of the great things about Magic Theatre is that it doesn't happen every month and so retains a freshness each time it does arrive in the calendar. My diary is certainly ready to book out the next date . . . and I wonder what Claire will be wearing??!! |

As per usual " Magic" was a blast , just a gorgeous venue, delightfull " crowd" , very friendly atmosphere and terriffic band ! Its one of the few places , if not ,the only one where i feel so relaxed , and with such a diverse spectrum of " magicters!" makes is a very interesting place to go , especially if one is not into dancing , as its just as much fun to sit and " people watch " ! Magic was the first place that i ever went to " en fem" and i still cant find anywhere better! Hope this helps anyone who is venturing out for the first time and is wondering where to go . |

Yet another Brilliant evening, band were fantastic yet again, danced my stockings off, a little less people mobbing the bars so was able to get nicely plastered with my friends. Everyone dressed up there were so many great outfits there, guys and girls alike, and so friendly too. Just love this place, will be back there next time again for sure. |

Magic Theatre Christmas party night, a festive and coiourful night. I expect this wasn't a quiet night but more of a regular attendance night (forgive me but I was comparing the attendance to the Halloween event) This was a more relaxed and for me enjoyable night, there was room to move, room to dance, room to wander and chat and plenty of room in the bar and cloakroom! Still many made the effort to dress individually, a few christmas outfits but most had put their own unique stamp on theirs! The entertainment was good The Magician no so good. The singing and Band were again good but I was expecting a new set and instead only got a few new songs added to the same one. (I can almost sing along now I've heard them that often! lol) But we all know friends make a evening and my friends made mine..... again well organised and maybe not as smooth as they would have liked due to a last minute singer change. I really enjoyed the night and it was better than the halloween event which was a little packed but then again was good all the same. The people are great and is very relaxed. There most definately are NOT any arrogant so and so's attending which for me is a thumbs up as one can get the "I'm better than you" brigade at some of these events. I loved the music but the volume could have been turned down a notch as found it hard to speak to people at times. Getting to the venue is fine as the train station is dead opposite but be prepared to get a cab home. Everyone knows Clair and Sophie that put on the night, they make an effort to welcome you in which is nice. It does make one feel a little special as we all silently want to say "we know the owner". The toilets are perfect as there are huge mirrors and very boudoir like. On the whole love it and will always make the effort to attend. Stacey x |

You just know a night out at Magic Theatre is going to be a good night. So it proved. A much smaller attendance than for Halloween (to be expected as that night is always the biggest throughout the year) but enough to give it the usual Magic atmosphere. Enough room to meet people and have a natter, no long waits for the bar either. Seemed to be the locals who supported it (not too many from outside the M25 I'd guess). I do hope there was enough of us through the door to make it pay... Excellent entertainment - a magician (sorry, I didn't see him, too busy chatting) plus the Fabulous Lounge Swingers - an intial couple of Christmassy numbers then later their excellent main session sandwiching a short set from the Frantastics! The music for the night was set-up & rounded off by the excellent DJ Kobayashi. Needless to say I spent a good deal of the evening on the dancefloor. So another great night at the Rivoli Ballroom - you really wouldn't expect anything less!! Just the best Saturday night out.... |
