The July Magic Theatre was less well supported than usual, possibly due to the clash with Sparkle and other events. Unfortunately the DJ didn't help the situation, by playing a string of numbers from the 1920s to the 1950s, and the band (who were musically very good) had a playlist of similar vintage. Bearing in mind that this is an event which finishes at 1.00am, at 12.15 the most recent number that either the DJ or the band had played was "I Wanna Be Like You" from the Jungle Book. By then many of the younger attendees had given up and gone. It's a retro venue, but this event needs to move forward. It needs to be edgier. Let's hope that Halloween sees a return to form. |

My favourite of all evenings I go out to. The Magic Theatre is just such a wonderful evening. It is superbly organized with a fabulously mixed crowd. The entertainment is top notch with a great live band. It has such a friendly atmosphere and really is a night where you can wear a fabulous ball gown or what ever type of costume takes your fancy. Simply the best. Classy and fun at the same time.

Brilliant fun as always. Great music, reasonable (even cheap!) prices and lots of glamorous people. It seemed to me that the RGs (GGs , FABs, whatever) were in a majority. Friendly and non-judgemental atmosphere. But why do the special acts (this time some kind of gymnast/contortionist) perform on the dance floor instead of on the stage? Only the people in the front rows can see them!

band was great... lots of nice people..>>>BUT.<<.. same old problem..>>.THE BAR SERVICE.<<. and after being told by one of the staff..."some of the bar staff dont like or want...... [you girls] in here"after i ask whay it takes so long to get a drink......i for one ..will NOT BE BACK...

Hi. This was first time to the Magic Theatre and loved every minute of being there. Friendly, great atmosphere and a very different night to normally going out. Will be back again and again! |

was my first time at magic theartre.it is a fab place to go the place is very big and full of some of the most wonderful people i have met.music was great to...just wish the bar didnt have such a long queue.but overral a very nice place and looking forward to the next one.

As ever, ....another total, TOTAL pleasure !! Thanks, ...again !....to Darren and Claire ...and all who attended, ....dear, dear friends and all, for the most fabulous, most sumptuous, luxurious and glamorous and friendly of nights out ! As has been remarked, ...the bar queue could be shorter if the second bar were made open, ....but, nattering to fellow queuers, ...I generally find myself nearing the bar far sooner than expected. My fav night out ............by some distance !! |

The venue is a beautiful old building (which is probably what the problem is) which looks and feels great for the night, however i would come again in the summer as you cant relax properly if your feeling cold all night, the night was good though and i did have fun thank you

My wife and I attended our second Magic theatre party and had a good time. The theme wasn't greatly supported this time but Darren & Claire put so much effort into arranging these parties the result is an a wonderful night. A total blast with everyone from catwalk models to gurls in gimp masks all mixing it up and having a great time. We have been to MT parties with me dressed in both boy and girl modes and have enjoyed ourselves totally The whole experience is not to be missed and should be on everyone's "bucket list", though chances are you'll be going back. AAA+++ |

This is a great evening in one of the most atmospheric venues in London. Because you're encouraged to dress as flamboyantly as you can, it's a real party feeling and the buzz is brilliant. The live band gets everyone on the dance-floor. If you want a good feel factor in your life, this is the place. One criticism is the fact that only one bar was open so the queue was very long and slow. I didn't really understand why the second bar wasn't used. Nevertheless a fantastic experience that could well be put on more frequently.

An awesomely entertaining night of fun and fabulousness, where you can feel both under and overdressed at the same time! Be prepared to stand in line for a while to get to the bar, particularly if only one of the two bars are open. |

Lots of fun, lots of lovely people, if you go you'll feel good when you leave. If there's any downside its that there's only one bar and a thousand people wanting to be served !
