What can I say ... ?! Wow. I have had so many near misses and finally made it to the Magic Theatre this Saturday. A few years after my girlfriend from a mile down the road in Deptford dumped me for my incurable transvestism I was back in Brockley giving it th great big Nikki Vs ! I KNEW it was going to be good but actually - it was perfect. Five stars feels stingy. The venue is beautiful and it wasn't too crowded. A great back stage changing room which - by the time I arrived (late!) was roomy and bright. I couldn't possibly add anything by describing the venue but from the loos to the lights, it's gorgeous. The one queue for the bar is wonderful (especially for angsty, uptight people like me!) and in all it was just like stepping back into another - far better - era. Relaxed and fun and full of people just having the time of their lives. It was a celebration, a liberation, an expression and so much more. It was actually horrible to have to leave - not because of the freezing cold, but because of having to go back into the 'real' world, into 2013. I met so many people - people I've known for years and never met and people who came up to me out of the blue to gush compliments all over me. It was joyous. It was one of those nights where the sweet spot was just struck - everything so right you didn't even notice it. Was weird - when I go out as boy me I envy the trannies, but on Saturday I envied the chaps with their moustaches and cravates and being able to chat up ladies from all sorts of eras and backgrounds. Maybe next time. Or maybe next time I'll be a puppy or a Spiderman or a kitten or a lion tamer. Who knows. I just know that I had imagined something like the Magic Theatre all my life and on Saturday I walked into it. My soul was lifted, my heart filled and my feet didn't even hurt - or if they did, I never noticed them. All that remains is to thank the fantastic people who dreamed this and made it real. An inspiration to us all. Thank you. Can we do this every week please ... !? |

Once again the Magic Theatre came up trumps... The band were exclenent - their first perfirmance at MT for over a year - I reckon they are the best band to play there.... a swing beat covering mash-ups of modern day chewns!! I went with a number of first timers - all are looking forward to the next one immensely - as am I! |

WoW !! 10/10 you just have to go there for a fabulous evenings entertainment, what a lovely venue in an old art deco hall. therewas such a lovely wonderful friendly mix of well dressed poeple some more OTT than others some very smart some casul I even met the Pope & his 5 Nuns ! This was a mixed genre event so T-Girls most welcome and there was a few friends there to which was great for me as it was my 1st time there but I'll certainly be looking to go again. It's a lovely evening that can't be missed Rachel |

MT is just a fab event from start to finish. This event didn't disappoint. Band were fantastic. Packed with fab people. Brilliant....only negative...DJ played come on eileen again...can someone tell him we are all 20 years younger when we are dressed so this song should not be played! brilliant come on MT set the next date...

lovely time, even though i went by myself since the bad weather put of my pals there was a good mix of people and i was soon in a good social whirl. More please!

A really magical night ! Everybody that was there came for a great night and dressed to impress . You have to go and soak up the atmosphere If you appriciate being different !

Another superb at one of London's least known venues. Best value entertainment in London. Cheaper than the cinema for: Great friends, audience, atmosphere, a band and a DJ who spins discs for all ages and the dance floor is never empty. Beg, steal, borrow, commit atrocities to get a ticket for the Halloween gig. It's a Thriller! |

The Magic Theatre must be the most perfect venue for us t-gurls to strut our stuff ! A unique venue. Friendly staff - and delightfully enthusiastic party goers. A mixture of disco and first class dance bands kept everyone on the floor. The beat was intoxicating - the smiles of enjoyment a pleasure to see.... and the outfits beyond compare.... This is my second time at Magic Theatre and this time it was less crowded and with a larger number of T Girls there in percentage terms. The upside of this was that the bar queue was short although the queue for the Ladies was longer than i remember. There are other loos in the building that are worth searching out. The company was excellent and the atmosphere still the very best in a fabulous venue. This year I stayed over in the Peckham Lodge Hotel which is terrific value but a lousy hotel still under construction really. This hotel is not really recommended unless on a tight budget. This is an expensive event as although ticket prices are good, bar prices are a tad on the high side and the mandatory hotel bill and taxi ride to and from the venue is a bit tedious. Nevertheless, well worth both the effort and the expense for what is undoubtedly a truly 'magical' experience. Note well that this is not a specific T Girl event but is really friendly and very trans friendly. |

Another fabulous Magic Theatre evening surprisingly well attended given the weather. The ladies were as resplendent as ever and filled the brilliant Rivoli Ballroom with sweet scents. Music wise it was great to have the Lounge Lizards getting us all up (well almost) to perform our 'wonderful' dance moves whilst the dj music was excellent as well - mostly!! Well done to those who organise the event for us. My diary is awaiting confirmation of the next event date. Now who might I invite? THANK YOU |

Loved it - a great night out at a real gem of a venue. I look forward to paying a return visit some time!
