Well, what can one say. In a world going to shit, isn't it great to have a night at an enchanting venue where you can be what or who you want in the company of others who feel the same? Sissies, fetishists, comic book characters, Victorian ladies, latex lovers, dapper Dans, Louise Brooks fangirls - take your pick, anything goes at the Magic Theatre Hats off to Claire and her fabulous crew for offering us all this safe haven at a really beautiful spot. Check your blues in at the door, because it's sunny side up all the way once you click clack through that imposing entrance. The band was great, the staff were lovely, as was the food (so I was told, but didn't get round to that) and the guests were all smiles from start to finish. Can't wait for October. My one complaint? It had to end. |

A magical night. Wonderful venue, the decor elegant and atmosphere warm and hospitable. So many beautiful people and stunning and creative outfits. Staff and organisers incredibly helpful, warm and courteous. The entertainment fabulous. My first time and I was quite nervous but the staff soothed my fears and I was made to feel welcome as soon as I arrived. I could have ‘people’ watched all evening, so many peacocks on display, girls, boys and in-betweens looking utterly gorgeous and such a diversity of costumes displayed, Just fab, thank you x |

Amazing event - some many friends and other glamorous girls. Such a good night shame I missed it in the past. Looking forward to the next one...and dreaming up an awesome costume.

EVERYTHING about Magic Theatre screams we need more, the host was absolutely welcoming - I wish I was able to take more pictures and thats my only regret and have more courage to speak to others but I definitely felt love and support. You don't need to try to hard and just be yourself and dress how you feel and try to make the effort. REALLY love the creative freedom there.

What an amazing venue & event. Started off badly as my satnav didn't recognise the postcode but the staff at Travelodge were very helpful & checked the postcode (same) & printed off a map & directions otherwise things would have been difficult. Such a range of marvelous costumes to wow the senses & I so enjoyed watching the spectacle unfold,........ a night to remember. |

The best way I can describe this incarnation of The Magic Theatre is as the most ostentatious house party you will have the pleasure of attending. The look and feel is gorgeously decadent. And that's just the revellers. I loved being able to wander around the mansion. Upon arrival there's an improvised bar and reception. A changing area for those needing to refine their costumery. A downstairs bar with food and seating space is also available. I spent the most time in a chill out lounge with comfortable sofa chairs ideal after shaking your groove thang. And I just adored busting out some moves to the live band, the Congo Faith Healers. The atmosphere is welcoming thanks to the likes of Claire, Miss T and unsung hero Serge who gave me a tour to get my bearings. As the vibe is so relaxed, it's easier to strike up conversation with people and I loved doing so throughout the evening. Security was polite and will reassure with their presence. If you're considering a visit next time, make sure your taxi drops you off right at the top of the road. Your feet will thank you for it. There is ample free parking in the grounds for drivers, which is great for peace of mind. If I had to critique, I'd say it gets very warm on the dancefloor. The previous venue, the Rivoli Ballroom had such an expansive feel by comparison. Yet I found venturing outside the front door a great way to cool off which unwittingly led me to help with an impromptu photoshoot for some lovely ladies. It's that colourful spontaneity, gaiety and freedom that characterises The Magic Theatre. And for that and many reasons more I will gladly return next time. |

1st time to Magic Theatre and it lived up to it's reputation. Glitz, Glam and a mansion full of interesting, friendly, kinky people. The staff were helpful and security there but unobtrusive - the best sort. WELL worth the visit - get yer glam rags out of the closet and go shake yer booty or strut yer stuff... Definitely on my 'do again' list |

As before it was an absolutely magical and theatrical experience, made special by the superb band, the violin recital, the music and the wonderful mix of young and old, guys and girls - all dressed to burlesque perfection. :)

I'm sure I would have enjoyed it a lot, but I couldn't find the damn place! My sat-nav didn't recognise the postcode so I resorted to stopping every few minutes to consult my A to Z by my dim interior light. After being on the road for over an hour and driving around the Crystal Palace area in a huge circle, I'm afraid I gave up. All dressed up and nowhere to go, I came home for an early night.
