Yes, the fabulous Sandra that many of you might know from Central Station on Wednesdays nights, is coming to Bar Plus Chelmsford. This is going to be the first of many to come. We love Sandra, and we know she’ll love Bar Plus. So, if you can make it Friday night, then you’re in for a treat. Bar Plus is an all inclusive safe place venue run by me (Kirsty) and my trans wife Lilly Love. We have same sex couples, lesbians, Bi’s, gay guys, non-binary’s, and Transgenders of course - we have a lot of F>M trans come to Bar Plus, and even have two of them work behind the bar.
This is a place where, no matter where you are on your journey, or even if you’re content with cross dressing, you won’t be gawped at, made fun of, talked down to, or be the subject of hate crime. Here is where you can truly be yourself and relax.
We also have rooms for hire for as little as 30 minutes and prices start at £20.
We’ve got everything you need in a modern, and tastefully decorated bar that is unique in its aesthetics. Imagine a cocktail bar style coffee shop with a nightclub vibe and the picture conjured up in one’s head won’t be a million miles away from reality.
Bar Plus is roughly 15 minutes from the city centre over ground train & bus station. Taxis are available outside the station if you’re wearing high heels (pack some sensible flats and you’re laughing)
This is a free entrance night out with great entertainment and laughter throughout the evening. When Sandra finishes her act, I take over and the banter and good music feels like it’s a party that you won’t want to end.
We have all drinks available from barista coffees to fizzy cold drinks; from Draught Lagers such as San Miguel to QUIERE, and 3 Queens (our own exclusive Draught beers that cannot be bought anywhere else) to Stonewall IPA (Brooklyn Breweries fifty year commemorative IPA ale) first brewed and distributed in 2019 to mark the anniversary of the the Stonewall atrocity and subsequent riots that sparked off the Gay Rights Movement, and is the catalyst for all positive steps forward with international laws overturning draconian legislation which now seems absurd in modern society. We have all of the usual popular Cocktails made with fresh ingredients, to our own unique cocktails that have cheeky names like ‘Sour faced bitch,’ and ‘Wet dream,’ to name two of a large selection; we stock Essex Spirits gins, rums, and vodkas, which are premium quality, and distilled just a stones throw away from our venue - watch out for the Army and Navy Gin at 57% it’s not for the feint hearted! And we sell all popular spirits, wines, bottled beers, and have the full selection of Fever Tree mixers with menus on tables that have suggestions on how best to choose your spirit and mixer if you’re unsure.
All staff are from the LGBTQ+ community and they’re unphased by anything that is asked for. You can rest assured that your night will not end in frustration or disappointment because we have everything you could ask for.
