Bar Plus Introduces Baka Salty, a Transgender female who likes to trash everyone. If you have ever seen Karen's Diner, you'll know what to expect. Put bluntly, only visit if you are okay with being treated in an unwelcome and foul-mouthed way. Returning the abuse is very welcome and positively encouraged. Why not try something different?
Bar Plus is situated in Moulsham street in Chelmsford. It is a 15 minute walk from the City Central bus and train stations. If you prefer not to walk, there are adequate numbers of taxi's available. This event is a public event, those who attend are mainly from the LGBTQ+ community and there is normally a good turn out of transgender males and females. We pride ourselves on being Chelmsford's safe venue for everyone. If you are a cross dresser, and would not normally go to a public house for fear of derogatory remarks, you have nothing to worry about here. Kirsty & Lilly, the owners, are both Trans females, and run a 'No Hate Venue.' In fact, Bar Plus is a Hate Crime reporting Centre in direct collaboration with Essex Police. There is a zero tolerance for transphobic behaviour.
Bar Plus is a fully refurbished bar that has a main bar, a Coffee/Cocktail bar, and a covered & heated outside area furnished with rattan sofas & chairs. The whole venue has mood lighting with first class DJ music system. We have recently been granted a 3am licence for Friday/Saturday nights which has elevated us to Nightclub staus on those days.
However, Bar Plus is more than appearances might suggest. The accommodation upstairs has rooms that can be hired from an hour to an overnight stay. This answers many needs and all we ask is for discretion and to leave the rooms in the same condition that they are found.
In addition, Bar plus is a venue that has trans support group meetings. One is for trans young adults and family called PLUSGENDER who meet monthly (every second Saturday) and the next meeting is the 11th January 2025. Then there is another support group called trans+ which is organised be the charity, NOT A PHASE who meet every third Sunday of the month (please be aware that the next meeting is the third sunday of February)
Thank you for reading about my venue
