Goth Chick
Still here and occasionally out and about. See pictures below for proof of life.
After crossing the rubicon of a significant birthday last year I find I'm more likely to get an illicit thrill these days from hearing 'Sailing By' and the shipping forecast on Radio 4 and realising I'm up way past my bedtime. I've also started using the phrase 'Kids today!' - which I'm now legally entitled to do.
I should probably delete the following but it's been on here so long now it's got listed status.
------------------------------------------------
Semi de-closeted cross dresser who gets out and about whenever the opportunity arises. At least 50% of my family knows - the other 50% which does kick boxing (upsetting the traditional older / younger brother balance of power) is still in the dark. Been out on Hurst Street in Birmingham, Canal Street in Manchester, up to The Wendy House in Leeds and Pink Punters in Milton Keynes (though I'm trying to cut down for 2010. PPs is starting to do my head in a bit).
I love the Goth, Suicide Girl look - though I don't have any tattoos - and I'm learning to love Goth music thanks to the good people at the Zombie Club. Love love love fishnet, PVC, corsets, pinstripe, knee boots, clinchers, teeny-tiny skirts / belts, spike heels and chunky platforms. Also have a thing for rubber / latex clothing which I've actually been out in a couple of times without turning into a human puddle.
I am quite convincing - people tend to accept my ropey directions to places and rubbish arguments. I also look pretty good dressed up as a woman too. I am slim (size 12 bottom half, size 14 top half), have a good pair of legs on me, size 10 super wide feet, brown eyes and long red or brown hair depending on what wig I'm wearing.
Here are a few of my favourite things:
Music - Talking Heads, R.E.M., Pavement, Radiohead, Belle And Sebastian, The Shins, Boards Of Canada, The Unicorns, Elbow, Arcade Fire, The Smiths, Ben Kweller, The Pixies, Joanna Newsom, The Breeders, Super Furry Animals
Films - It's A Wonderful Life, Casablanca, Mulholland Drive, Fight Club, Fargo
Television - The Wire, Arrested Development, South Park, Columbo, Family Guy, Lost, Trailer Park Boys, American Dad, The Simpsons, The Venture Brothers, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Dexter, Futurama, CSI:<bit of America>, Kids In The Hall, The Day Today, Fist Of Fun, Vic and Bob, The Fast Show, Big Train, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Hokuto no Ken, 30 Rock, Fringe, Flight Of The Conchords, Only Connect, True Blood
Books - Anything by Douglas Coupland, Jon Ronson or Chuck Palahniuk. Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell - Susanna Clarke. Ben Schott's faux old books.
- male admirers - not interested, sorry. My mail filter is set to junk messages from admirers so be warned.
- profiles without pictures
- profiles with decapitated / faceless body pictures / terrifying Boards-Of-Canada-album-cover-esque facial blurring.
- people just in underwear / tights / stockings - if that's what floats your boat then fine but I'm looking for people who make the effort and dress fully.
- people with hairy legs - sorry, it just doesn't do it for me. The razor is your friend. :)
- msgs in txt spk
- messages without any punctuation or basic grammar - this may make me sound like an examination board but there you go. :)
- blimey, you're still here!
