14th April 2015 - Now living full time as Karen. Yesterday was my first day back at work as Karen, everyone's been really supportive there, although it'll take them time to fully re-adjust given that most of them knew the old me for over 6 years. All my old school and uni friends who weren't previously in the know now are, and again they've all been great, so basically everything's looking up right now :-D
LATEST NEWS: NAME CHANGE
For various reasons I've dropped the name Caroline Snow and shall henceforth be going by the name Karen Laurie. I've been toying with the idea for a while and since I now plan to go full time in the not-too-distant future I wanted to get the change nailed down. The name Caroline never felt quite like the perfect fit and can even be a bit of a mouthful sometimes. Karen is a name I like much more. My mum yesterday also confirmed what I'd believed to be the case in that Karen is what my parents would've called me if I'd been born a girl. As for the Laurie last name, well that's always been my real last name anyways.
Hi all. I'm Karen, a 30 yr old tgirl from Leicester.
I've been dressing since a very young age, and am now making big steps towards living the rest of my life as a woman. I've been on hormones since Jan '14 and am nearly at the end of my laser facial hair removal treatment. It remains to be seen when I will go full-time, basically when I get a job as Karen. Out of work I'm Karen practically all of the time.
In the last couple of years I've enjoyed getting out more and pushing my boundaries further back little by little. I'm out to my family and housemates plus some other friends (all of whom are great about it and encourage me a good deal), but I should also get round to telling other chums soon as well.
I have green/hazel eyes, and I have brown hair. I have a slim build, and thankfully a rather feminine frame.
In my day to day life I particularly enjoy sports. I'm currently learning to properly roller skate so that I can compete in Roller Derby (it's a cool sport, check it out!), which I get to do as Karen too which is great. I also enjoy other sporting pursuits such as football (whether playing or watching, although as a Leicester fan I don't get to enjoy the watching part very often), basketball (Go Leicester Riders!) and a spot of cricket and golf too.
I am also very interested in history (particularly from the medieval period) and am getting more and more interested in both reading and writing (currently working on a sitcom with my brother which is taking shape nicely)
I, like most people, enjoy listening to music as well. The vast majority of the music I listen to is by The Beatles, with the balance made up by other ageing hipsters such as The Beach Boys, The Kinks, Abba, The Smiths, The Stone Roses etc. I can't pretend that I can play any instruments (although I'm a mean triangle player), but I am at least able to sing very loudly to the aforementioned music whilst driving in my car.
BTW If you're hoping to get a reply from a message then your best bet is to have at least a face pic on your profile. Your worst bet is to have a picture showing a hairy phallus resting limply below an equally hairy beer belly. You also won't get very far by opening up a conversation with a sex related comment. Yes sex is generally good fun but it's not necessarily the first thing I want to talk about with someone who has just messaged me out of the blue.
Romantically speaking, I'm into girls and tgirls, so if you're either of these and you like what you see by all means drop me a line x
If it makes any difference I might as well say that I'm not generally into guys, although right now I'm keen to give things a go with a chap, although he of course has to be a gentleman, ideally around my age and happy to be seen with me in public. Also he's got to be interested in more ways than the purely sexual, ie enjoy hanging out, taking long walks together etc. If any of you out there feel you meet this criteria why not get in touch?
NB: It will help your cause with me if you are a non-smoker. Smoking is a big turn off for me, and it's not so nice kissing someone who tastes and smells like an ashtray.

Update: December 10th 2013
First of all I've just realised how long it's been since the last update, although that doesn't mean things haven't been happening. The latest news I guess is that I'm now beginning to introduce some family members to the female side of me. The other night I went round to my dad and stepmum's in female mode, while last weekend my mum and older brother came over and we went out to watch a basketball game together. That was a first with my older bro (except when he caught me in the act as a teenager), while my mum is already used to the sight of me in girl mode, and she's been great, as has everyone else.
Also for most of this year I've been living in a shared house with a bunch of great people, all of whom are lovely in a number of ways, but additionally they're 100% down with my transness, and so are all their friends etc that I've met, so all is good on the home front. Because of that I'm spending probably the larger chunk of my free time in girl mode and doing all sorts of fun and mundane things whilst at it. Over and out x
Update: August 8th 2012
The coming out as a tranny process has continued unabated, I told my sister on Sunday during a smashing day out around London, and also told my auntie about it last night. They were both terrific about it and both offered me plenty of huggage and kind words. I also showed my sister and my mum some photos and they both seemed pretty impressed, which is groovy! Just got everyone else to tell now!

Earlier this evening I told my mum about my cross-dressing. She took it great, said she was proud of me for telling her and even proposed going for a shopping trip, so result! We also told my stepdad who took it well so all in all a successful evening. I told Dad about it last week, and although he hasn't proposed a shopping trip, he took it perfectly well also!

I'm getting out and about much more these days, having had nights out in Leeds, Manchester and Pinks as well as some day time shopping / eating out / cinema excursions etc in a few different places too. I've also met plenty of very nice folks and made some good friends too, so hopefully it's all onwards and upwards from here!
