Hi everyone,
I'm Karen, a 67 year old Tgirl living in Rotherham.
I'm 6ft 1in tall, about a size 18, and at the moment my hair is a shoulder length blonde wig. I did take hormones for a while and have a couple of 'B' cups. I can't see me ever transitioning, it's probaby a bit too late now anyway ?
I suppose my two main problems at the moment are that I can't accomodate and I don't drive, so meeting anyone isn't very easy.
I'm really still getting used to getting around as Karen at the moment, whereas it used to be taxi's everywhere, I don't mind using the bus or train these days. I probably stand out like putting a Gorilla in the Chimpanzees enclosure, as I don't really have anything going in my favour - too tall, feet big foot would be proud of, and a parting in my own hair that covers more area than what's left of it does :-(
But I do seem to get a lot more positive comments rather than negative ones.
I like wearing most things especially short skirts and heels. I tend to wear trainers while getting about though and change into heels when I get to where I'm going these days. Getting a pair of comfortable size 12 heels seems almost impossible, though it always seems to be the left foot that gets blisters ?
Sometimes I have a Friday night out at Dempseys Bar in Sheffield. Tina and me first started going in 2006, when we were looking for an alternative venue for our Les Femmes nights, should Club Xes close. So I know most of the staff and regulars there and they do tend to look out for me when I'm there on my own.
I did try to get a Girls Night up and running there, but there didn't seem to be much interest and most Friday nights I was sat there on my own So I called it a day when the pandemic hit.
I like going to Manchester, I had my first night there in 2000 at The Hollywood Showbar and I always seem to have a good time.
Leeds is probably easier to get to, but I don't really know my way around. I got lost going from the station to The Marriott Hotel when I went to LFF last year, and it's only really just around the corner. I think I left the station by the wrong exit ?
