After a lot of reflection and quiet honesty with myself, I’m making this official:
From now on, I’ll be using the name Kimberley Carter.
“Kimberley” was one of the most popular girls’ names in 1973, the year I was born. It reflects the life I wasn’t allowed to live, but always felt.
“Carter” is mine. Chosen, not inherited. It represents the woman I intend to be when presenting femme not a fantasy, but a truth I’m finally ready to live.
