Hey, my name is Rebecca. I have been dressing for nearly 10 years now. I have suffered with gender problems for a lot longer than that. I have now decided nearing 40 to take the plunge and discover a whole new world as the real me. I will soon be single but not without my wife who has agreed the although she cannot change her sexual preference (understandably) we will remain great friends. With other great friends in my life will help me through this. It's a new chapter, slightly scary but one I want to embrace and enjoy. I certainly don't want to settle down again straight away with anyone but I want to enjoy life in a way that I have never let myself do because of how unhappy I have been in myself. 6th January - First trip to TransPlus, what a day!!!! Easy journey, friendly staff and an amazing experience. The were so personable, it was the first time that my 5 year wait on the waiting list felt worth the wait. A 2 hour chat where I finally felt that my story actually meant something to a health care professional. After the 2 hour chat I had blood tests, blood pressure check, height and weight checks and was then told that I could... could... leave the second appointment with hormones. Finally feels like my life is close to moving forward. What a great start to 2026, let's hope it continues in the same fashion. Fingers crossed that my second appointment on 19th February is just as positive.
19th February - Wow, wow and wow. It's finally happened. Second trip to TransPlus and at 39 years old I have finally been officially diagnosed with gender dysphoria and put on hormones. Can't begin to say how excited and relieved I was to be told. I can now finally start to look forward with genuine excitement rather than back with regret. This is the first day of the rest of my life. Time to start living it. So much I want to I can now look forward knowing that I should be in a position to start living full-time soon.
