Hi folks. I'm on here (for 10 years now!) mainly for friendship, whether with likeminded girls, admirers or anyone else who ventures onto these pages. Just so we all know, sex is very far down my list of priorities, for now anyway, and if it's 'dressing fun' (or similar) you're after, please move on and enjoy it elsewhere.
For the record: 5'6”, average build, dark hair and brown eyes. When time permits, I enjoy long distance running (23 marathons so far, although my knees sound like they need a squirt of two of WD40), cooking (Indian food is my passion), listening to music (an eclectic selection, encompassing Asian, Classical, Reggae, Folk, Bluegrass, Metal and more besides), travel (India & New Zealand among my favourites, as well as annual trips to Scotland where I once lived), reading (especially Patrick O'Brian's extraordinary Aubrey & Maturin novels), test match cricket (I qualify as an anorak) and current affairs. Renovating my last house in Hove was a labour of love and now I'm doing it all again on a grander scale in lovely Worthing. After a few years not owning a roadster (since my TVR was reluctantly sold), I've given in to the bug again and bought a rather lovely 3 litre Z4 and a hair clip.
I've been 'full time' since early 2012, not without its difficulties but unquestionably the right decision for me. It's easy to take things for granted, all the more so when they become part of the daily routine, but when I think back to the long years of wondering and dreaming, and the stress of trying to play a role increasingly alien to me, I know that despite the heartache and guilt, the price had to be paid.
I’m guessing my use and experience of this site follows a pattern familiar to many: the initial excitement of finding kindred spirits to share experiences with (and learn from), graduating over a period of time to less frequent visits as 'normal' life gradually encompasses the very things that brought me here in the first place. One thing that has always struck me about this site, in a largely positive way, is that it serves a broad church of gender expression and associated interest or support. In doing so, it reflects real life, in which growing awareness and acceptance of gender diversity is so welcome, albeit there is still a long way to go.
I'm happy to field any questions from anyone considering - or experiencing - transition, especially if my experience (e.g. staying at the same workplace, coping with familial rejection) might be of relevance.
Rebecca
