What is SEGI?
The SEGI is a constituted non-profit organisation based in north Kent. As individuals we have
experienced most of the problems transsexual and transgender people may encounter on their
journey through life, e.g. family conflict and non-acceptance, loneliness, isolation, workplace
harassment and unemployment.
Our Mission:
To actively promote and improve the health and well-being of Transsexual and Transgender people
at all stages of treatment, from questioning of gender through to post operative life, as well as
their family members and all affected by gender issues through support, education, training and
information
Our aims:
• To provide practical support, advice and information to the Transsexual/Transgender
community, to enable them to be accepted by and in society without fear of prejudice
or harassment.
• The advancement of education and understanding of issues relevant and relating to
transpersons.
• Engage the support of organisations, employers and services in their provision of services
and interaction with transpersons by, but not restricted to: advice, education, training and
information.
• The promotion and awareness of issues relating to the mental health and well-being of
transpersons.
• The provision of support services to transpersons, and their families , including, but not
limited to: support groups, partnerships, advice services, education, training, drop-in
sessions and information.
• To facilitate the provision of helpline and counselling services to transpersons, their

transgender issues.

well-being to reduce poverty, isolation, unemployment and ill-health.
What we are not:
The SEGI is not a medical or mental health service provider and we do not give diagnoses or
prescriptions.
The SEGI is not a dating agency.
As for myself, I transitioned nearly twenty years ago when it was a bit of a wasteland for TS people outside London.
I have been in a relationship with my partner Martin for eighteen years and although we have our ups and downs we are happy together. So I'm obviously not looking for admirers.
Personal details: I suppose I'd describe myself as blonde, 166cm tall, need to lose some weight, two eyes, two ears, mediumish build.
I have a rather dry sense of humour which people often don't understand.
I have now obtained my Diploma in waxing and am a member of the Guild of Beauty Therapists.
