I am a professional Drag artiste, comedian, LIVE MALE SOPRANO singer, mime-artiste and magician.
I am also a fulltime transvestite.
Other interests: Writing, both serious fiction and comedy, Poetry, experimental electronic music (I have not been doing so much lately, as my Drag Career takes up a lot of time, but hope to get back to doing more music).
I am a regular active member of LES FEMMES, the Transvestite group which meets at Club Xes, Sheffield, on every Friday (I attend every week EXCEPT for the First Friday of every month, as this was traditionally the 'Bear Night' at the club, although some girls DO go on that night.)
I am also a regular fan of Sparkle, and was in this year's 'Miss Sparkle' pagaent, getting a lot of marks, a huge number of cheers, but not winning any prizes as such. However, it was a fulfilling experience to someone like me who has previously won various other drag contests, and I would reccommend it to any new face on the Trans scene: you don't have to spend thousands of pounds on an exclusive designer frock for such contests, you just have to believe in yourself and win over the confidence of the audience and judges!
More famously, I am the Drag Queen who got to within a whisker of going through to the second round of BRITAIN'S GOT TALENT 2009, when I got through to the televised heat (Screened on Saturday 25 April 2009) and got YES votes from Kelly Brook and Piers Morgan, but 'no' votes from Amanda Holden and yes, Simon Cowell! NB it was only on the Manchester Heats that there were 4 judges; in all other heats there were 3, so two yes's meant you would go through. Because I needed 3 yes's to go through, my appearance on the show was set up as the 'Cliffhanger' and I cannot deny that I WAS disappointed not to get through, in spite of the whole 2000+ live audience at the Manchester Lowry rooting for me. The song I sung was the Mariah Carey version of the Neilsen song: 'Without You', and both audience and judges were surprised that I could hit the high notes in the chorus perfectly; its just a shame that Simon Cowell used the opportunity to proclaim that he 'just doesen't like Drag Queens'. Simon did the same for the only other drag queen in BGT that year, in the Birmingham heat, by voting no, but the other two judges there said yes, and he stumbled on to the next round, only to meet the same fate...
I have entered LOTS of other competitions, big and small, and am available for hire as a Drag Cabaret doing mime, live singing, magic, Poetry, DJing or any combination of all these, just see my website for repertoire and other details. I have been described as one of the best drag performers in my region, and have thousands of fans across Yorkshire and the rest of the country as well as abroad.
Long term, I am looking at moving abroad on a permanent basis: my No. 1 choice of new home is CANADA; I would welcome advice from other TV Chix who know about life/work in Canada.
The kind of work I am seriously looking at doing (in addition to mainstay of drag cabaret) is FILM AND TV work, as I have a LOT of experience acting in several rock videos and short underground comedy/horror films.
