Description:
Safe Haven is a non-profit making organisation that supports trans and non-binary people, their partners and family members. We run a monthly party on a Saturday night which we call Sugar & Spice parties, a weekly support group for trans and non-binary people called 'Safe & Sound', and a monthly support group for parents, siblings and partners of trans people called 'Family Matters'. These events are held in The Batcave, which is located in our grounds. The Batcave has a bar (we obtain temporary event notices so it is licensed for party nights), pool table, toilet, seating, music.. and the largest private collection of Batman memorabilia in the country. We have our own private car park, and the entire premises and car park are covered by cctv. We have some accommodation and a small campsite. This is a non-sexual venue, so please don't embarrass yourselves or us by assuming sexual activity is on the agenda! The basic ethos is respect and acceptance for all. No hiererchy, cliques, hidden agendas or egos. cd/tv/ts/tg/nb/mtf/ftm.. all are welcome. Just people wishing to be themselves, and others happy to support them. This is also our home, and as such we expect it to be treated with respect too. All our events are private, meaning they are not open to the general public and as such we would expect people to contact us prior to attending any of our events, so we know you are coming.
