Description:
The Caves venue is used for various functions through out the year. It has friendly staff and a wide mixture of people dependant of the event taken place.Most notably are events surrounding the Edinburgh fringe festival which takes place during August and Torture Garden Events which are presently tri yearly.
The venue is in the heart of the Cowgate area a vibrant busy area with pubs and clubs to suit the mostly student based crowds.
The venue is within the pedestrian area (active between 10pm-5am).
On street parking is free in the evenings.

Torture Garden are world leaders in alternative events, hosting them throughout the world. The Caves is an intimate venue were you really do need to be sociable. There is nowhere to escape the diverse beautiful people and outfits. Wow the outfits. A sell out event for the last 2/3yrs, even with Edinburgh peak periods. It is no wonder people a clambering for tickets as soon as they are released. First stage act. The hostess allowed two guests to finger paint her body to rapturous applause set the rest of the evening up. The music is as diverse as the people. Main room brings you dirty hard fast base tunes. Room two mixed bag of classic alternative tunes and burlesque beats. A save environment for all comers from all backgrounds. One not to be missed. |

A night of cabaret, dancing and debauchery. As a regular to Torture Garden Events generally, Edinburgh has its own unique style compared to the larger London events. The Caves has an atmosphere unlike other venues, steeped in History. High heels are not your friend as the venue is made up of underground caverns, flag stoned floors, fire escape styled steps to gain access to other levels. 2 rooms of entertainment, room 1 large stage with a variety of acts and a sound track of thumping baseline. Room 2 smaller more intimate room with an alternative sound track including classics and funky swing. Everybody makes an effort. The strict dress policy ensures this. As a result you have a mixed bag of goth, tv & TGirl, swingers and regular folks. All with the same mindset. Edinburgh, unlike it's London counterparts, has only one real difference - no couples area. However there are dungeon play equipment expertly managed for those who wish a give or receive a spanking. This club night is all about the people and the outfits. You get what you want out of this event. If your a shy voilet, your going to watch from the side line. Make the effort to chat and you will make friendships for life. |
