Being a bit hung over I wandered around town a bit (mainly unclocked as my dress was Tesco nondescript allowing me to blend in better than my usual too-short skirts and dresses) and arrived at 1205…. Shock horror…. All closed…. Then some signs of life and the place opened up…. Just in time for a medicinal beer…

Nickie and Amanda arrives soon after and our 4th was a non-show so we ordered, gossiped, had a lovely lunch and left around 3pm…. If I recollect correctly as I must confess I was still a bit fuzzy!

It was great to meet the girls again, I’ve missed a lot of gigs due to COVIDITIS (medical definition = an exaggerated fear of getting COVID). This LWL is a perfect opportunity for girls to meet in a friendly and completely non-threatening situation so is highly recommended to anyone who is thinking of stepping out. There’s no better place to start… it’s where I did…

Thanks, as always, to Nickie for organising.

Just 4 ladies here today, as always the staff were fantastically friendly. Food was great and the chat was warm and friendly. A little bit quiet hence the 4🌟. Looking forward to the next one

Come on ladies get your glad rags on and come and join us. Street parking (metered) is right outside the door or a carpark 50mtrs away so don’t be afraid to wear those heels.

Well I was nervous, from a few days beforehand, so obviously had a few drinks ( few too many, truth be told ) night before, on the morning and in USB itself.

I had a professional make-over / makeup lesson, guided to my skin age, tone, colours to match the outfit, and arrived slightly early, just after 12pm as USB was opening.

Went upstairs to the Ladies, tried fixing my hair, as wind was really strong that day, came back down, went for a ciggie outside, but cut short again due to the wind.

Met Nickie, and at her suggestion, moved from usual table as close to the door, and joined by Judith.

I was on the red wine as stated, a tad nervous, well first time out my front door in Belfast in 13 years living here, and from the taxi into town, walking to Boots, then walking afterwards to USB, does that count as my "Walk of Fame" then ?

Both ladies were very nice, and welcoming esp Nickie, as we had longer to chat.

They both left after lunch, but I stayed on, a few more glasses of red, and eventually parked my derrire at a bar-stool, and chatted a lot to Daniel / Dan, our handsome bar-tender / waiter, and yes I wee bit of flirting back & forth, hussy that I am LoL :) , well I wanted to really enjoy my day out, as it were.

I left about 5pm, cab home went into local wee corner shop, and they didn't know me until I spoke.

Hugs all round, and some Congrats as well, from the staff in the shop.

Then did another "Walk of Fame" as it were, as whilst the food in USB was brilliant, I failed to finish my meal, and still hungry, so walked to a take-away place I don't usually go to, and got a meal at home.

I would defffo advise Gals in the Belfast / Norn Ireland area, to attend at least one of these events, when they occur, and will be back, if allowed to do so.

Came out on my Fbook, and response so far has been positive ( one friend sorta hijacked it and she even stated as a natural born woman, she prefers trousers / jeans and no tights ) but overall as I said very good.

As to myself, I had a few negative things, windy day, too much alcohol before & afterwards, but nothing that anyone else was to blame for.

They always say the 1st time is the worst, and for me, on my part, it was.

I now have more confidence in myself, and going out as Geraldine / Gee in the future.

Baby steps as I have said on my own profile, but each step on takes, is one less in negative thoughts & believing in oneself.

Thanks Martin ( cab driver into town ) , Molly in Boots , Dan in USB , N & J for lunch , wee girls in the corner shop and all that gave support before & since.

Also on a personal note, the actual date itself - 26th February, was the Anniversery of my Mum's death, and I felt she was looking done and happy.

Geraline aka Gee for short, xx
