Description:
Gay Venue by the station. The tables are set outside and once the club opens they do a nice club night as well. The venue is LGBTQ and is quite a large venue.
Retro group meets at the gardens and then can have drinks after. Once the weather is warmer it will be nice to have a venue where girls and guys can easily get their tube and trains home.
Be aware the tables are outside with passing people and tourists walking past. So clothing to be discrete as we would like the venue as a regualar.

The conversation sometimes struggles to rise above the traffic noise, and being next to the river makes it a bit draughty, but it's a good place to go on from Embankment Gardens for drinks with the girls.

On the 5th of May the weather was cold and the heavens opened up. The rain came down heavy. We had the table of six booked and we all huddled to stay warm in the outside seating. The staff were attentive and the drinks flowed. The toilets were flooded at one point but that did not spoil the evening. The Retro group always turns heads and we made friends with others at the bar. A great evening and maybe the last at this venue as the Retro bar is soon to open. In May I wore gloves and scarf to keep warm and was still cold. |

The remnants of Girls in the Gardens decamped to here when the cafe closed and carried on enjoying themselves. It's a bit miserable having to sit outside when it's raining, but rules are rules. Staff are friendly and helpful.

This is our second time at the Circa as an alternative while the Retro Bar is shut. The venue is quite expensive for food and drinks. The toilets are down two flights of stairs and there is no lift. The bar staff are attentive, there is adequate seating and heaters for the outside social distance meets. I think the club will be better once it opens but so far i don't find anything that great about this place. The only benefit to us as a group is that it is near the gardens and we can have shelter in the rain when the café shuts. |

Thanks to Reita for organising this. A bar in a pleasant spot on the embankment. Due to covid there are about 10-15 tables outside. friendly LBGT staff with an abundance of smiles, even when (unfortunately) one of our group got comatose drunk and made a bit of an ass of himself, they treated him with kid gloves in a vain attempt to sober him up. (Thumbs up to the security guard for being so nice about it) The only slight negative is that it is 'fully' priced (expected because of location) But then they added a 10-15% service charge, which made it a tad expensive and was not mentioned anywhere on the menu. Overall a great place for an hour or two, I will be going back. |
