Description:
On the other side of the canal at the Piccadilly end of Canal Street in "Kampus" which is a vibrant and growing little canal side area of bars, restaurants and shops.Staff at Nells are welcoming and friendly but at busy times they appear short staffed and it can take up to 30 minutes for your pizza to appear so not a place to come if you are in a hurry. No point complaining about the wait as the staff will announce they are now more of a bar than a pizza restaurant and be bemused if you mention that calling themselves a Pizza restaurant suggests they prioritise the pizza.
When paying there is a default tip added at the card payment machine or on the App, it might be possible to deny paying a tip but there is no obvious key to press for that.
The customers and staff are mainly students so the atmosphere is lively but it is not raucous.
The pizza is tasty, claimed to be a genuine New York style pizza where they take their dough preparation & rising seriously, it seems true based on the taste.
Their bar has draught beers which cover all modish crafty requirements and the rest of the drinks menu is well put together.
For nice weather days there is an outside dining area where you can look over the Canal and at all the comings and goings in the Village.
