A few minutes walk out of the Village along Portland Street to its junction with Oxford Street, on the edge of the theatre district.

A venue for experienced girls rather than the novice or nervous, due to the walk along Portland Street which is usually busy and that the customers will be mostly theatre goers, office workers and tourists.

It can get busy around theatre times so booking is recommended then. Prices are average for a city centre restaurant. Portions are rather large so if you are in a tight dress or skirt I would suggest skipping the starter.

Reviews on tripadvisor are mixed so it is a restaurant where you should check some reviews first to make sure it is one for you. My personal experience is that if you have even a mildly noisy group on nearby tables it can be hard to hear any conversations on your table.

This Wednesday Evening is a Manchester Dinner & Village Social

From 7:00pm we will be having one of our social dinner evenings at Giorgio's Italian Restaurant on Portland Street.

Giorgio's is a long-established, family-owned restaurant that always makes us feel very welcome, so you'll be right at home.

At the moment I have booked 12 places. If you would like to join us, please either contact me directly or mark yourself as attending this event so I can keep the booking matched to the number of people coming.

The restaurant has kindly agreed to offer us their Pre-Concert Menu, which is two courses for £28.95. You can view the menu here and note the portions are quite generous:

After dinner, at around 9:30pm, we'll head over to Iconic Bar, 29 Richmond Street, Manchester M1 3NB which is only a few minutes' walk from Giorgio's.

We'll split into two walking groups, those wearing sensible walking shoes and those wearing heels so nobody gets left behind. 😊

Men are very welcome to join us. Please either come with one of our ladies or contact me beforehand so I can make sure you're introduced to everyone. Please also come with realistic expectations as we're a social group, not a dating or hook-up group.

If you're new or feeling a little shy, you're especially welcome. I can arrange for someone to meet you, introduce you to people and help you settle in. Nobody needs to spend the evening alone. We have a friendly, supportive group with experience at every stage of the transgender journey.

If you have any questions or need any help, for example, being met at your hotel or arranging to meet in town before 7:00pm please either ask me for my phone number or send me a Chix mail.

You are also welcome to join our private local Facebook group, The Buzz. It's a secure networking group for our local events, just ask me for an invitation.

For those who don't wish to come to dinner, our usual Village evening will continue as normal:

The Molly House (first floor, often quieter, often with real ale and folk music), The Goose (note they prioritise their Wednesday quiz night), Oscars, EVA, The Church, Brewers, Via, or NY2 (café bar open only)

Around 8:00pm – 11:00pm we meet at Iconic Bar, Richmond Street.

11:00pm onwards
Most people drift back to Via or head to:
The Goose, NY2 (café bar open only), Centre Stage, all are on or close to Bloom Street while I will go back into town with anyone interested in that.

A great event organised by the wonderful Alison. There was a real mix of personalities at this table, that made for an interesting meal. The food was lovely and the hosts couldnt do enough for us. Prices seemed reasonable. Will be looking forward to going again if Alison does another meal out in the future.

The hostess with the mostess. Thanks very much for meeting up at the bar at the outset Alison, would never have guessed that everyone was hiding down in the Via basement! The staff at Giorgio were brilliant, quite an effort to get 24 all seated comfortably and the food & service was great. Lovely to see so many girls out and about. I'm sure we'll be seeing you all again sometime in the future 😀 x
