An option to consider when city centre hotels get expensive, this an older Premier Inn, reasonably priced and the cheap onsite parking is the biggest win with this hotel.

Bear in mind that on days when there are events in Manchester all hotel prices are high though.

It is just outside the city centre and about a 15 minute walk from Canal Street which will be challenging walk if you are going to try to do the walk in heels. You will walk through some busy streets so it is not a hotel for shy or nervous girls.

Very cheap onsite parking for Manchester City area at £6 for 24hrs using a voucher from the hotel but if it is a Manchester football match day it will be hard to find a space.

Staff are well trained and polite but it can be understaffed at busy times, rooms are clean but definitely show their age as does the sound proofing if you have noisy naighbours.

The best and quickest route for the walk is left out of the hotel onto Medlock Street, immediately cross over to go into River Street. Follow River Street for a few seconds and when it turns right go left into Jack Rosenthal Street, between the office buildings. After a few seconds follow it right to head under the railway arches and once you pass through them turn right to go along Whitworth Street West. Keep going until the traffic lights at Oxford Road then cross Oxford Road to go onto Whitworth Street. Keep going til the next traffic lights at Princess Street, go left here and you will soon see the Union Hotel on your right which is the beginning of Canal Street.
