At the intersection of Chorlton Street & Canal Street, owned by the group behind London’s Isabel Mayfair and opened in March 2024 Maya is a three-storey restaurant & bar under the Leven Hotel. It is on the site of the late-90's Mash & Air restaurant & micro-brewery and has been extensively and expensively renovated.

On the ground floor which looks out over Canal Street is a Brasserie and one level down is a restaurant with an a la carte menu both have drinks featuring a wide range of signature cocktails. Lighting is bright on the ground floor and dusk-like in the restaurant so bring your glasses to be sure to be able to read the menu.

The menu does not appear to be online so pop in first to check there is something that works for you. Opinions agree the food is at the pricey restaurant range but then some people rave about it and some are not impressed so personal taste is a big factor with the food.

The second level down is the Pump Room bar and music which at this time is an invitation only bar designed with “Studio 54” style in mind.

The owner describes Maya as, "a 'dinner plus' destination, a one-stop shop where you can have great food and drink but also great entertainment”.
