A smashing day out with two dear friends and an addition to the circle in the guise of Olivia. Once again, if one perseveres with FB one can find gems in amongst the time wasting dross. The day itself was a combination of an ideal way to see some of the glorious English countryside riding behind a real and old steam engine and to interface with the general public at stops and in this case, in the Flag and Whistle at Toddington where the food and service was excellent but the weather being muggy made the air quality in the café a bit warm. A lot of driving to do this but of course these steam railways require travel as they are, as this one is, not connected to the main rail network. Parking at Cheltenham was easy once found and the trains were clean and tidy. A good experience and Olivia lives quite close to this line so you can contact her ( through me if you wish ) to organise a visit. I will return as the Severn Valley Railway is not too far and I would like to visit there. |

I had a wonderful day out en femme on the Cheltenham steam railway. It's great to get out and mix with the public and feel part of the wider world. Thanks so much to Lady Hay for organising this, it would have been great to see more girls coming along and enjoying themselves. |
