Wednesday 22nd October
Trans people meeting socially in Manchester has been an every Wednesday thing since the late 1970's. These days we have a well trod Village routine and a non-Village routine because in 2025 Trans people are generally accepted in society, (do not believe everything you hear about that we are not accepted).
The Village option and timings;
6pm to 9pm you will usually find ladies in Via or Velvet on Canal Street.
8pm to 11pm ladies meet up in Iconic Bar on Richmond Street, a chilled and very friendly little bar where you will get 10% off their drinks just for being a trans person :-)
11pm-ish people will usually drift back to Via in Canal Street or to The Goose, NewYorkNewYork or Centre Stage which are all on Bloom Street.
The City and local area option and timings;
I will be out all day through to 2am-ish in the morning so just message me if you want to discuss hanging out with me.
3pm to 4pm I will be with Emma around Piccadilly and Northern Quarter.
4pm to 5:30pm a cis woman friend and her full time trans woman friend will be joining us when we will find a bar in Northern Quarter for nice tea, wine, cake and conversation.
From 5:30pm to 8pm I will have dinner somewhere in the city area, I will post exactly where later, once I have decided who has the best deal this week to tempt me in.
From 8pm to 11pm I might go to say Hi to the group in the village or I might stay in town.
From 11pm to 2am I will just pick a random bar(s) in town to end the night in.
If you arrange to meet up with me please be on time as unreliable people from the past have taught me to always stick to my schedule so I will be gone if you are late. PLease also respect that we will be out among the mainly straight general public so dress in a way that a mother will not find impossible to explain to her child why we choose to be diverse from societal norms. Please also wear shoes fit for walking around town in as I am not into doing snails paced wanderings.
If you have any questions about either option just message me or you can join our Manchester & North West Networking group on Facebook, "The Buzz". It is a private and very secure group so you will need to ask me for an invitation to it.
Come if you can as it is a lovely, social evening, a chance to make new friends, new memories and you will be continuing that tradition of trans people meeting in Manchester on Weekdays for almost 50 years..... and how much life do we all have left anyway?...... so let's make the most of it!
