The Manchester ladies social can be found here from 8pm each Wednesday.Iconic is a cosy bar tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Canal Street on the adjacent Richmond Street.
It used to be a hair salon that is now known as a friendly bar with an impressively well-stocked spirits collection, particularly when it comes to gin as they have up to 150 in stock at times). All of their drinks are reaosnably priced.
The staff team and owner are very supportive of our trans community, are chilled and relaxed and everyone is friendly and chatty. You will be very welcome here and not judged in any way.
The Decor is warm and cosy, the music is gentle background music with no DJ's or drag acts most nights though there is ‘Monday night madness’ SpeedQuizzing and Thursday night bingo. On most nights it is a good place to come and sit, relax with friends and have a chat together.
It is one of the nicer bars in the area but also one of the lesser known bars too so be different and give it a try.

Wednesday 28th October in Manchester Trans people, together with our cis friends and allies, have been meeting and socialising in Manchester on Wednesday evenings since the late 1970s as the Manchester TV/TS Group in 1974-75 and later Northern Concord then Manchester Concord. We are a modern evolution of that Manchester tradition and everyone is welcome, whether you are completely new, a cross-dresser finding your feet, a trans woman living full time or somewhere in between. 🌈 The Village Option People often begin meeting during the late afternoon, usually in Via, moving on to Velvet then later in the evening, people usually drift between Via, The Goose, Iconic, Oscars, The Molly House, New York New York, Centre Stage, Brewers and other nearby venues. If it is your first visit or you are feeling a little nervous, feel free to message me beforehand and I will do my best to help. 🏙️ The City Option Some of us will spend the afternoon in mainstream places in the city centre and have a meal there, if you would like to join us, you are welcome, just send me a message and I will let you know our plans. You will need my number though as I don’t check my Chix messages while I’m out. For anyone new to socialising in Manchester, these are two quite different options. The city-centre option involves mixing with the general public and is best suited to those who feel comfortable socialising in that environment. If you're unsure whether it would suit you, please message me beforehand and I'm happy to talk it through. The Gay Village offers a more diverse nightlife environment and many people find it a comfortable place to begin socialising. If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message. We had dinner at Madre - good food and lively atmosphere. Canal Street was pretty dead early on, and some weird folk group were in the Molly House. Things livened up later though with a fun drag show at Via.
