Description:
The Manchester ladies social can be found here from 8pm each Wednesday.

Iconic is a cosy bar tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Canal Street on the adjacent Richmond Street.

It used to be a hair salon that is now known as a friendly bar with an impressively well-stocked spirits collection, particularly when it comes to gin as they have up to 150 in stock at times). All of their drinks are reaosnably priced.

The staff team and owner are very supportive of our trans community, are chilled and relaxed and everyone is friendly and chatty. You will be very welcome here and not judged in any way.

The Decor is warm and cosy, the music is gentle background music with no DJ's or drag acts most nights though there is ‘Monday night madness’ SpeedQuizzing and Thursday night bingo. On most nights it is a good place to come and sit, relax with friends and have a chat together.

It is one of the nicer bars in the area but also one of the lesser known bars too so be different and give it a try.

Upcoming Events at Iconic Bar
Manchester Wednesday Night Out: Chilled Weekly social evening
Other Social Gathering

Open from 8pm to
Wednesday 20th May

Trans people, together with our cis friends and allies, have been meeting and socialising midweek in Manchester since the late 1970s. That tradition is still going strong. Whether you are completely new to this, a cross-dresser finding your feet, a full-time trans woman or somewhere in between, you are welcome to join us and find what works for you.
We have a well-established every-Wednesday pattern with two options, depending on your confidence, experience and interests.

🌈 The Village Option
For locals and regulars, visitors, novices and those who prefer scene bars and familiar locations. Please note that times are always approximate.

6:00pm to 9:00pm
You will usually find some of us in Via or Velvet on Canal Street. If you prefer an alternative venue there is The Molly House 1st floor which though prioritises folk singing and The Goose which prioritises its quiz night, Oscars and Eva.

8:00pm-ish to 11:00pm
Ladies usually meet in Iconic Bar on Richmond Street.

11:00pm-ish onwards
People usually drift back to Via on Canal Street or to The Goose, New York New York or Centre Stage all on Bloom Street.

🏙️ The City Option
I am away this week so I won't be leading a city option so https://tvchix.com/profiles/Emma_Smith_ will be organising the late afternoon and the evening meal in Yates so please contact her directly if you need anything more than the below overview of times

6:00pm to 8:00pm
We will eat at Yates, 49 Portland Street M1 3LD, let Emma know if you wish to join for dinner and she will make sure to get a big enough table to seat everyone.

From 8:30pm-ish to 11:00pm-ish
Back to the Village to join those in Iconic Bar.

11:00pm-ish onwards
Probably Fab Café but check with Emma, 109 Portland Street, M1 6DN. Not actually a café but a 70s and 80s themed bar with a DJ.

A few important notes for the City Option:
We will be among the general public throughout so please dress with good judgement for ordinary public settings.

Please wear shoes suitable for walking as the City Option involves moving around town at a reasonable pace.

If you have questions, message Emma this week please. You can also join our Manchester and North West networking Facebook group, The Buzz, which is private and secure. Please ask me if you would like an invitation.

Come along if you can. It is a lovely social evening, a chance to make new friends, make new memories and continue a tradition of trans people meeting in Manchester midweek for almost 50 years.

If you are a cis man, please arrange to come with one of the ladies or speak to me first so we can make sure your expectations are appropriate. We are a social group, not a dating or sexual activities group.

And honestly, how much life do any of us have left anyway, so let us spend it, when we can, doing what lights up our lives. 💜

As always, another great afternoon in central Manchester and the evening in Iconic and Fab Cafe with a great bunch of girls.
Rounded off very nicely with a group of us having a day out in Blackpool on Thursday where we shopped, dined, walked on the beach, and ended up by sharing a bottle of prosecco in the sun at the bar on the end of North Pier. A fabulous day out!
