The Manchester ladies social can be found here from 8pm each Wednesday.Iconic is a cosy bar tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Canal Street on the adjacent Richmond Street.
It used to be a hair salon that is now known as a friendly bar with an impressively well-stocked spirits collection, particularly when it comes to gin as they have up to 150 in stock at times). All of their drinks are reaosnably priced.
The staff team and owner are very supportive of our trans community, are chilled and relaxed and everyone is friendly and chatty. You will be very welcome here and not judged in any way.
The Decor is warm and cosy, the music is gentle background music with no DJ's or drag acts most nights though there is ‘Monday night madness’ SpeedQuizzing and Thursday night bingo. On most nights it is a good place to come and sit, relax with friends and have a chat together.
It is one of the nicer bars in the area but also one of the lesser known bars too so be different and give it a try.

Wednesday 9th April This evening is focussed around meeting between 8pm to 11pm in Iconic at 29 Richmond Street M1 3NB where. We get 10% off drinks deal here so if you are a regular visitor ask at the bar for our discount card. Generally there will be up to 20 Ladies out socialising in the evening but not all of them are necessarily in Iconic bar at the same time as people drift in and out. The ladies present will vary from first time out socially to full time experienced and everything in between and will be both locals and visitors from around the country. You will always find someone that you can relate to and compare your personal journey with as everyone is friendly and approachable. If you are alone or new, ask for me when you get there and I will introduce you to everyone. If you come and sit on the edge of the group without asking for me I will assume you want privacy so I won't interrupt you. During the day time I will be wandering around Manchester centre and surrounds, if anyone wants to join me please just ask. I will be eating between 5pm to 8pm in a bar type place either in Northern Quarter, Deansgate or St Peters Square area, again if you want to join me please ask. I chase down deals where ever I go so it will usually have a discount offer. I get asked if the non-LGB places I go to "trans friendly"..... well, I am trans and I am friendly so yes, they all are. I am happy to come and meet you if you need that but please be on time or I will wander off again. Before 8pm if you don't want to leave the village you will usually find some of our ladies out in either Velvet or Via. When Iconic closes at 11pm I will leave the village again and hang out somewhere until around 2am, you are welcome to join me if you wish, if you prefer to stay in the village then popular locations to go are; The Goose, New York New York, Eva, Via, Oscar's, The Brewers, BarPop and there is Centre Stage but as I am barred from here I obviously can not give it a recommendation so make your own choice about there. What a lovely evening, I met the group in the Iconic Bar and was welcomed and introduce to the girls. Everyone was so friendly and I felt included in the the group from the first minute. Lovely bar and easy going Bar staff. Then some of use headed off to Via, to watch( dance) the Drag Queen, great fun... I ended up at New York night club and Eva.. What a fab night and it's comforting making the connection with Alison and the group as there is always a friendly face when your our around the Village. Alison is a lovely and friendly host and is happy to help you throughout the night. I'm looking forward to my next visit... |

Just a wonderful night out in Manchester with some of the best people you could wish to meet. If you want to get out, feel safe and have a really good time, too, then this event is the one. The amazing Alison does so much to arrange these nights and make everyone feel welcome and safe. |
