Wednesday 29th October
Trans people meeting socially in Manchester has been an every Wednesday thing since the late 1970's. These days we have a well trod Village routine and a non-Village routine because in 2025 Trans people are generally accepted in society, (do not believe everything you hear about that we are not accepted).
The Village option and timings;
THis week there will be at least one of our ladies in Via from around 3pm to 5pm.
5pm to 9pm you will usually find ladies in Via or Velvet both on Canal Street.
8pm to 11pm ladies meet up in Iconic Bar on Richmond Street, a chilled and very friendly little bar where you will get 10% off their drinks just for being a trans person :-)
11pm-ish people will usually drift back to Via in Canal Street or to The Goose, NewYorkNewYork or Centre Stage which are all on Bloom Street.
The City option and timings;
I will be out in town all day through to 2am-ish in the morning so just message me if you want to discuss hanging out with me. The already fixed times and locations are;
2pm-ish to 5pm-ish I will be shopping and cafe-ing in the centre of town, probably the Arndale and then SpinningFields area.
5:30 pm to 8pm-ish so far 4 of us have agreed to meet up and eat at the Slug & Lettuce, 11-12 Albert Square, Salford, Manchester M2 5HD they will have an offer of one course and a drink for £13.00 or two courses and a drink for £17.00. Their bar is big enough that I don't need to book so just turn up or message me if you want to discuss anything in advance.
8pm onwards I will decide where I am going at the time but if anyone needs walking to The Village I can do that first.
If you arrange to meet up with me in town during the day before 5:30pm please be on time as unreliable people from the past have taught me to always stick to my schedule so I will be gone if you are late. Please also respect that we will be out among the mainly straight general public so dress in a way that a mother will not find impossible to explain to her child why we choose to be diverse from societal norms. Please also wear shoes fit for walking around town in as I am not into doing snails paced wanderings.
If you have any questions about either option just message me or you can join our Manchester & North West Networking group on Facebook, "The Buzz". It is a private and very secure group so you will need to ask me for an invitation to it.
Come if you can as it is a lovely, social evening, a chance to make new friends, new memories and you will be continuing that tradition of trans people meeting in Manchester on Weekdays for almost 50 years..... and how much life do we all have left anyway?...... so let's make the most of it!
